An Accidental Sleepover

After their pleasant meal, Ted and Kevin put their dishes away. They stood in the kitchen in silence for a minute, deciding what the next move should be.
Ted wondered, is it time to go home now? Would I be overstaying my visit if I were to leave?

Kevin also pondered what he should do. He never really hung out with another person one-on-one like this. What's the social norm for this situation? Do I ask him to leave or invite him to stay? I don't want to pressure him... but man it would be nice. Kevin decided he wanted to be bold and invite Ted to stay longer if he pleased.

Kevin hesitated, then asked "Hey Ted... If you're still free, you're welcome to stay for a while. We can watch a movie or play a game."

"I have today off." Ted gave a cheerful smile. "I'd love to stay, if you don't mind!"

Kevin was overjoyed, but tried to be cool. "Okay! We can watch a movie on the couch in my living room."

"Sounds good."

Kevin led Ted over to the living room, where he had a comfortable but small lived-in couch and a large flat screen TV. It's where he spent a majority of his free time. The two sat down on opposite sides of the couch to avoid invading the others' personal space. Although, neither of them would mind if their personal space was invaded

Kevin asked Ted "What would you like to watch?"

Ted replied "You like Men In Suits?"

"Yeah, I like men in suits." Kevin giggled, "I personally think you look great in a suit!"

"Oh, thank you. You're too kind. But I meant the movie."

"Oh." Kevin looked away and chewed on his lower lip. "My bad". WHY DID I SAY THAT. So awkward. So stupid.

Ted chuckled. "You're so cute. Don't worry about it".

"Thank you." Kevin couldn't hide his smile. "Anyways! Lets watch this movie you're talking about"

Kevin turned on his TV, but looked in horror he saw what was on screen. He couldn't believe he messed up this badly.
An episode of My Little Pony, halfway finished, sat there on screen.
Oh my fucking god. This is so embarrassing. Ted must think I'm weird now. Why can't I be normal and stop embarrassing myself in front of Ted. So stupid.
Ted interrupted Kevin's racing thoughts.
"My Little Pony? I love that show!"

"R-really?", Kevin stammered. He wiped a drop of sweat from his forehead. "Me too. I didn't know you liked that."

"Yeah. I do"

A moment of silence passed.
Kevin giggled. They couldn't contain it. The two men laughed uncontrollably.
"Don't tell anyone about this!" Ted said between laughs.

"Don't worry. I'm taking this to the grave!"

After the two calmed down, they decided to watch My Little Pony instead. It was going great. They watched 3 episodes and bonded over their secret love for My Little Pony until they both dozed off.

Kevin awoke on the couch to the absence of Ted. He looked around for any signs of him, and found a post-it note on the coffee table in front of him.
"I had to go to work. I made you some toast and eggs. Have a relaxing day!" -Ted
A smile crept up on Kevin's face. It was such a kind gesture that meant the world to him. He had the urge to text Ted right then and there "I LOVE YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU <3 <3", but he refrained from acting insane, and instead settled on a simple "Good morning Ted, I saw your note and the food, thank you so much. Have a great day at work!"
Satisfied, Kevin chowed down on his breakfast (and DAMN Ted can cook, husband material) and fell back asleep on the couch to another episode of My Little Pony playing.
