Visions (Sonic Various x Reader)

Chapter 9

It was another usual day in Mobius for me. I was shopping and walking around town, per usual.

But when I arrived at a local bar around 8 PM, a certain someone was there to greet me as I chugged down my first shot.

"Y/N, right?" I looked beside me and met eyes with that green hedgehog, Scourge.

He uncomfortably looked too much like my best friend, Sonic.

"Yeah, you're Scourge. What're you doing here?"

"I come here often, babe. What about you? I'd definitely notice if you were here." Scourge reached for a shot from the waiter and drank one himself, all the while smirking at me.

"Just relieving some stress." Which was entirely true. The vision situation was getting much more complicated and I could always go for a few drinks.

"I could always relieve some stress for ya." Scourge winked.

I'm beginning to regret turning down Sonic's invitation for a date.

"...I'll pass. Thanks." I looked at the vodka and disturbingly took another sip.

Scourge remained seated beside me.

"How'd ya meet Sonic, toots?" I internally groaned at his presence.

"He bumped into me one night and hasn't stopped clinging onto me since." I rolled my eyes, earning a light chuckle from Scourge.

"Damn, so you and Blue aren't a thing?" I grinned.

"Blue?"

"Everybody gets a nickname in my book." Scourge smirked.

"Oh? What's mine, besides 'babe' and 'toots'?" I sneered and finished my shot entirely.

"Heh, hang around more and you'll find out." Scourge answered back with the same amount of intimidation and teasing.

He's good.

"Maybe I will. Do you live with Sonic?" I asked with complete curiosity. I had seen him there a lot and I was confused as to why they don't live separately. Cousins or not.

"Only temporarily. My ex kicked me out of our apartment and I needed to leech off him for a bit."

This peeked my curiosity.

"Do tell about the ex." I squinted my eyes with pleasure. It was honestly surprising he even managed to have a girlfriend. I would've thought he was a one night stand type of guy.

"What'd ya like to know, babe?"

It was around 11 PM when I got home from the bar. I managed to hold conversation with Scourge for about three hours until he became an absolutely unbearable drunk.

Then I l left him at the bar.

I mean, I feel a little bad, but I'm not about to have some acquaintance stay at my house. I had only just met him a few days ago and he didn't have my trust yet.

But to be fair, I let Shadow stay. I don't know what it is about Scourge but I just don't trust him. He seemed unusually secretive in our talk. Even Shadow was more open than him!

I groaned and tossed to the other side of my bed. Why am I thinking about those two idiots again? I shouldn't feel bad, Scourge is a dick. But as the world went black, I couldn't help but feel a ping of guilt for not giving him the same hospitality as Shadow...

The room I teleported to was my own. Thankfully, neither Sonic nor Shadow slept beside me tonight. At least I think Sonic isn't...

There was nothing but silence with me at first. I would've thought someone to show up by now but I didn't see anything. Maybe I'll finally get a peaceful night of—

"Greetings, human." My eyes darted to the corner of the darkened room and I found that masked jackal piercing through my skin with his glowing eyes.

"Infinite." I sighed. He took this opportunity to wedge closer to me, much to my discomfort.

"I see you've discovered that blue hedgehog's ability." Infinite spoke dryly, baffling me with how he knew such things.

"I'm not here for small talk, Infinite." He was too much alike Mephiles, trying to charm his way into the world. It wasn't going to help him.

"Great, neither am I. Glad we're on the same page. Has Sonic spoken to you about the phantom ruby at all?"

Okay? Random...

"Um, no."

"Blasted, hedgehog..." He muttered to himself, "Do you know what a phantom ruby is, human?"

"I have a name, y'know!" He could at least treat me with a little respect!

"Y/N. Do you know what a phantom ruby is?" Infinite sneered, disliking my outburst.

"No, and even if I did, I wouldn't tell you. You obviously want it for some evil reason." I growled at him. Infinite didn't like this response and took dangerous footsteps closer to me.

"You will retrieve information on the ruby or I will hurt you." He demanded, inches away from my face.

"I'd like to see you try." I smirked, hoping Blaze would save my ass before he did anything.

"Hm. Fine. If you're going to be like that, I guess I have no choice but to hurt your little boyfriends, Shadow and Sonic." Now this, enraged me. Infinite knew what he was doing, and he knew it was going to work.

"Don't touch them." I hissed.

"Then fetch me the ruby." He retorted right back.

"How am I supposed to do that?! I don't even know what that is!"

"...Doctor probably holds it. I would suggest going to his base and finding it. Ask the pesky blue hedgehog and he'll show you what it looks like." Infinite folded his arms with little amusement, seemingly annoyed by my lack of knowledge for his precious gem.

"What are you going to do with it if I get it?"

"Why, get out of this pathetic allusion, of course." Infinite chuckled, arms now by his hips.

"So you can reek terror on Mobius? Like hell I'm allowing that!" I snarled.

"Do it, girl. Or else you'll find your friends torn limb to limb." Infinite stepped even closer, getting right in my face.

"I think they'd rather get hurt then see your ugly face back on planet earth."

And with that, I pinched myself and faded away from the dreadful world of visions once again.
