Valentines Day is the most romantic day of the year.
Beck was actually looking forward to the holiday this year. She had someone to spend it with, her lover, Dean. Beck planned on her and Dean taking a break sometime during Valentine's Day to have a nice romantic dinner together.
Dean, on the other hand, seemed to have other plans, as he had continually been giving Beck the brush off to the point that Beck offered to go with Sam and play FBI or whatever to check out their newest case.
A couple who had eaten each other to death.
Yuck!
"So, you were the one who found the bodies?" Sam asked the young woman who was packing up her friend's things.
"There was blood everywhere and other stuff." the girl replied uncomfortably.
Sam looked at her sympathetically and Beck wrinkled her nose.
"I think Alice was already dead." the girl continued.
"But Russell wasn't?" Sam asked.
"I think he was mostly, except he was still sorta....chewing, a little." the girl said looking a little disturbed.
"It was probably just the last nerves firing off, like when you cut the head off a chicken." Beck said kindly.
Sam gave both Beck and the girl a confused look and then said, "Oh."
"How could two people even do that, eat each other to death?" the girl asked.
"That's a really good question." Sam said softly.
"We're still looking into that." Beck told the girl.
"Now the last few days, did you notice her acting erratically?" Sam asked.
"How do you mean?" the girl wanted to know.
"Did she seem angrier or more combative than what was normal for her?" Beck asked kindly.
"No way. Alice never drank, never even swore. She was a nice girl and I"m talking like a "nice girl". Like she still had a promise ring, if you know what I mean." the girl told them.
"She was a virgin?!" Sam asked disbelievingly.
"No premarital. Used to wonder how she did it, I mean, ya know didn't do it." the girl said.
"She sounds like she was a lovely person." Beck consoled softly.
The girl picked up a stuffed bunny and said, "It was her first date in months. She was so excited."
"Apparently, they were both pretty excited." Sam said.
Beck turned back to Sam and gave him a quick disapproving frown, that clearly said, "Sam!"
After the interview, Sam and Beck returned to the Impala.
"You hungry?" Sam asked Beck once in the car.
"No, not after that, but if you are let's find somewhere on the way back to the motel." Beck replied.
Sam and Beck hit a drive-thru getting Sam something to eat and drink, Beck opted for a diet coke. They got back to the motel with no problems.
Sam unlocked the door to the motel room drinking his soda with Beck close behind him.
"How did it go?" Dean asked as Beck closed the door.
