m/n sat next to luffy, rubbing his mask. he wanted to take it off already, but he was still with the straw hat, so he couldn't.

"straw hat..." m/n broke the silence.

luffy hummed as his eyes were trained ahead, his only thought was ace.

"where's the rest of your crew? zoro?"

"some warlord touched us and separated us. after i save ace i'm going to sabaody to reunite with them."

m/n looked at luffy, his head filled with zoro being gone. "i can help find them. make it easier."

luffy shook his head no, "this is something i need to do. i'm their captain. i lost them because of how i was weak. zoro will be fine."

how long? was what m/n wanted to say, how long till i see zoro? but he held his tongue. there was nothing he could do to change luffy's mind.

he looked down at the sea, a small portal opened to the room he went in on ace's ship. he widened his eyes and jolted up. luffy finally looked at him, but he had a confused expression on his face.

"i have to go. i'm needed at his execution." he turned to luffy, a determined look was on his face, but his mask hid it. "i will do everything in my power to postpone it until you get there. and when you do, i'll make it look like i'm fighting you two, but i will save you both. don't worry, my crew and i have a plan."

before m/n could jump off the ship, luffy grabbed his hand.

"why are you helping me? it can't just be because we've crossed paths before."

m/n sighed through his nose, "we're friends, aren't we? besides, ace and i go way back. i used to be a whitebeard." he lifted the cuff of his pants to reveal his first pride on his ankle, "now, i'll see you around. don't cause too much trouble."

m/n jumped off the ship, landing feet first on the cushion of the marine room. he took his mask off, his boots and waited for another portal to open. when it did, tadeo took his things and dropped them on the deck as haru grabbed them and gave the hawk m/n's usual clothing. once flying back to m/n, the said male put his trench coat on, easily slipping on his boots and before he put his hat on a knock rang.

"warlord m/n, they're lining up in front of the execution deck. you are called by fleet admiral sengoku to be there asap."

m/n groaned and put his hat on, "i said no disturbances." he snapped at them, "i'll be out and you better hope when i open the door you're no longer standing there."

"yes sir! sorry sir." he heard their feet quickly leave.

he dusted himself down as he opened the door, tadeo on his shoulder. his eye bags felt like they were glaring on their own. he saw them begin to take ace off the boat, they made eye contact and m/n nodded.

luffy is okay, i made sure of it. he practically said.

thank you. was the response.

m/n looked at his hawk, "alright tadeo, stretch those wings because we're about to fly."

tadeo rolled his eyes and his beak lightly bit m/n's ear. m/n laughed as tadeo flew off his shoulder. m/n ran to the edge of the deck, stepping on the rail and jumping off. the marines all screamed for him, some preparing to jump in after him. after all, if something happened to the new warlord -not only would sengoku be on them- but so would his crew and a few other warlords. that was the scary part.

fortunately for them, m/n was now soaring in the sky. he mocked a salute as he ruffled tadeo's feathers who was flying him to where he needed to be. he had to hold onto his pirate hat as the wind brushed past him.

reminding him of when he was in sky island, having zoro with him. he shook his head, he shouldn't be thinking of his green haired lover in a time like this, although that's all he could ever think about.

"look up there!" someone shouted.

m/n looked down to see thousands of marines lined up in front of the warlords. he shook his head, marines are so weak. that's why i became a pirate. he looked out in front to see the navy admirals slowly walk to their seats before taking their spot and sitting.

"is it just me, or are they scarier than the warlords?"

definitely not.

m/n held his boots in his hand, and stood up on tadeo, the hawk flew lower to the ground as he jumped off. cracking through the cement a bit as smoke began to rise. he wiped his socks off before putting his boots back on. he landed gracefully. slowly, but surely, tadeo grew small and landed on m/n's shoulder. he dusted his hawks feathers before looking at hancock.

"fancy seeing you here." he said.

hancock laughed, "you and your dramatic entrances."

"it's apart of me. i get it from my mother."

"your father must be proud." mihawk said.

m/n glanced at him, a smirk twitching to show, "oh he definitely is. especially when it comes to my handsomely good looks, i get that from my dad."

hancock laughed, mihawk smiled slightly. before the conversation could carry they heard footsteps. that meant ace was now walking closer to his death. he held the weight of many lives, and m/n was beyond excited to participate in it and help save ace.

he couldn't let the old man down.

"i see you finally joined us, captain m/n."

m/n rolled his head back, grinning, "hey sengoku. couldn't miss out on all the fun."

"it's fleet admiral to you."

i'll call you fleet admiral when you've earned my respect and that title. "yes sir." he -once more- mocked a salute.

sengoku sighed, "i have important information to share! but i rather have ace say, so ace, tell us who your father is?"

m/n was now curious.

"whitebeard is my father!"

"liar! imagine my surprise when we found out this man had a child. we searched high and low for the kid, even as far as going to find his mother. and out of a mothers love, a miracle happened. she managed to deceive the marines -no the world- a serious crime against law. she held her baby in for 20 months," that's impossible, right? "once she gave birth to this child she lost all her strength and died. wasn't that your mother? the wife of your father, gol d. rodgers?"

"no way..."m/n whispered, "his bloodline still stands? now i have to save ace. he's 20 times more attractive."

mihawk heard m/n -along with hancock- but both said nothing. hancock helped luffy in, she had no right turning in the withering shark captain. and mihawk just didn't care, it's not like he could stop m/n they're both equal in strength. a long fight would determine who was stronger, but that's not why they're gathered.

m/n took a deep inhale, alright luffy your brother is hot. so i'll save him. and hopefully you get here in time to help. his mind wandered back to zoro, i wonder if he thought ace was hot as well. he said something about it at water 7, but he could've been joking. he's a good looking dude, you just can't help it. guess it runs in the family.
