Rhiannon walked downstairs to find her mother and father sitting in the living room on opposite sides of the couch.
"What's going on?" she furrowed her eyebrows and looked between the both of them.
"We have to talk to you about something." her father finally spoke in his usual firm tone
The girl sat down in between her mother and father and listened to them tell her that they were getting a divorce.
"And I thought that you and I could move back to Boston. Your father has to stay here in New Jersey for work, and plus I know you've missed living near the boys. I've already found a place." her mother smiled at the brunette sweetly.
That was a little over 2 weeks ago and now she was packing her mothers car with the remaining things from her old room. She knew that she shouldve felt bad about moving away from her father, but she could honestly care less. The two never had a good relationship and she always felt like she could never get close with him, ever.
"You ready to go kiddo?" her mother asked Rhiannon while walking out of the house for the last time.
"Yup!" she nodded her head.
"I'm gonna miss you sweetheart." her father wrapped his daughter in a hug. "Call me whenever and you know I'll pick up."
"I know dad. Love you." she flashed a quick smile at him.
"Love you too. Hey, drive safe. And call me when you arrive at Boston." he directed his last few sentences towards her mom.
"Sure thing." she gave him a tight lipped smile.
Rhiannon climbed into the car to avoid anymore awkwardness. She turned on the car radio and connected her phone to the bluetooth. The brunette started playing her road trip playlist for the drive. Her mother never minded because they were so similar that we shared the same music taste. And if Rhiannon liked something new, she always introduced it to her and she nine times out of ten liked it as well.
She had already said a long and hard goodbye to her boyfriend of six months, Joe Wesley, the night before. They had met down the shore and she found out that he was a content creator. So in her mind it was meant to be. Rhiannon was a little hesitant going long distance, but she knew that it would work out in the end.
