Val and Rhi were singing the lyrics to one of her favorite Olivia Rodrigo songs in Rhiannon's room.

"Got a pretty face, pretty boyfriend too. I wanna be you so bad and I don't even know you." the brunette mouthed the words while applying mascara. They were getting ready to go out to eat with the triplets. It was a pretty casual night out, but the girls still wanted to look cute.

"So how's everything going with Matt?" Val raised an eyebrow at her best friend

"Nothings really happening. I mean he's sweet, but I have a boyfriend. And Joe was kinda upset when it was only me and Matt hanging out, so I don't know."

"Wait, Joe got mad?"

"Yeah. He's a jealous person. It's in his nature. I just feel really bad about it."

"Rhi, you shouldn't feel bad about hanging out with your friends."

"I know. But I love Joe and I don't wanna lose him if he's upset with me."

"Oh Rhiannon. If it makes you feel better. I'm in a little situation."

"WHAT? WITH WHO?" Rhi whipped her head to face her best friend.

"Promise not to tell anyone?"

"Pinky promise."

"Alright. Chris and I kinda like each other but we're both too scared to do anything about it."

"I KNEW IT! How long has this been going on?"

"Right before you got here."

"So your telling me that you guys have liked each other for at least a month and I'm now finding out?"

"Yes. Listen I wanted to tell you the night yoh arrived and asked me why we both came from the same room, but I was scared that someone else would hear."

"Aw baby. Listen if you really like him, you'll stick it out."

"You're right."

"I know." she joked and went back to getting ready.

The two finished getting ready and walked down the street to the Sturniolo household. They walked in the door and entered the living room. All three of them were on the couch, very focused on their phones. The brunette cleared her throat and all three of them looked up at the exact same time.

"Are you guys ready to go or what?" Val said crossing her arms.

"Yup. Let's go." Matt got up and grabbed the keys to the minivan.

The drive to the diner was interesting to say the least. Chris and Nick had a heated argument over the fact that a hotdog could be considered a sandwich. But they all still made it to their destination safe and sound, somehow.

The group of teenagers walked into the diner and got seated almost immediately. It wasn't very crowded, but they all loved that. There was something so comforting about being one of the only people in that diner.

The hostess lead them to a big booth. Matt and Rhiannon were on one side where Nick, Val, and Chris were on the other. The girl had a feeling that they had done it on purpose.

"You look really pretty tonight. I mean you look pretty everyday, but I just felt the need to compliment you right now." Matt whispered to the girl next to him.

"Thank you." she pursed her lips and looked down at the menu trying to hide the blush forming on her cheeks. "You have a boyfriend" she kept thinking to herself. "You look good too."

"Thank you. And don't try to hide your face when you blush. I think it's adorable."

"Whatever." she playfully rolled my eyes.

"So Rhi, what're you thinking about doing for your birthday?" Nick asked looking at the menu in front of him.

"Nothing too big. Just something with you guys would be perfect." she smiled, telling the truth. She hadnt really thought it through yet. Yes, her birthday was a few weeks away, but she never really liked big birthday parties, especially when they were for her.

"How's everything going to Joe the hobo?" Chris nodded his head towards Rhi.

"Don't call him that. And we're good. It's a little rough right now."

"He's mad at her for hanging out with Matt." Val spoke up.

"He's mad we hung out?" Matt looked up from his menu to look at her.

"I think someone might be jealous of you Matty B." Val joked but was cut off by Nick nudging her side.

"Well did anything else happen?" Matt questioned.

"Not really. I assure you it's fine. He's a jealous person. He always has been."

"Yeah right." the boy next to her rolled his eyes out of annoyance.

"What?" she asked, her voice laced with pure confusion.

"It's nothing."

"Matt, its obviously is something if your gonna have a tantrum over this."

"He sounds like a total douchebag."

"That is true." Chris chimed in.

"Oh just shut up Chris." Nick rubbed his temples.

"This kid trying to talk to me when I'm just pointing out the obvious." Chris pointed to Nick with his thumb, and rolled his eyes.

"If the waitress comes around just order us both root beers. Cmon Matt." Rhiannon said getting up from the booth and dragging a confused Matt along.

"Where are we going?" Matt looked up at her with his eyebrows furrowed.

"We're talking about this maturely." the girl walked outside and turned around.

"Ok."

"What the hell is going on?"

"What do you mean?"

"Matt. Don't play dumb." Rhiannon said, putting her hands on her hips.

"Who said I was playing dumb?" the boy in front of her questioned, crossing his arms.

"Seriously?"

"Ok fine. I've never really liked this Joe dude. When you were in Jersey it felt like we could never talk because you were always with him."

"I'm sorry."

"Why are you saying sorry?"

"I don't know Matt. I feel like everything lately is my fault. I don't know what I'm doing anymore. And I wanna hang out with you but Joe is mad at me and I don't wanna upset him even more. I really do love him and I don't wanna lose him."

Rhiannon saw Matt's shoulders drop. "Listen. I don't wanna intrude or anything. But if he's really this upset over us hanging out and your worried you'll split because of it, I don't think he's the right guy. I mean there are so many other people that would kill just to have a chance with you Rhiannon Moore. Don't waste your tears over some jerk."

At this point, Rhiannon had tears in her eyes and didn't know what to say. So she wrapped the boy in front over her in a hug and rested her head on his chest. His scent filled her senses and she immediately calmed down.

"Let's go back in. We'll figure everything out." he flashed a smile at the girl and then they walked back into the diner.

Oh boy.
