Rhiannon, Matt, Chris, Valerie, and Nick were packing their bags after a day walking the streets of New York city on their final day. The entire trip had been filled with fun and laughter. The five of them were disappointed that they had to go, but they had their fun and they realized they had to go home.
Rhiannon was happy that she could keep her mind off of Joe. She ended up not hearing from her boyfriend the entire trip. So she took it as a sign that it was time to end things.
Once they were all set, they checked out of the hotel and packed the car. It was 9 o'clock at night, but the teens were full of energy and they were ready to face the four hour car ride ahead of them. Matt started driving out of the city, Rhiannon put on one of her favorite songs, I Think We're Alone Now by Tiffany, which coincidentally reminded her of Matt because of their shared love for 80's movies.
When the drums in the beginning of the song started playing, the entire car of teenagers immediately smiled. They all loved the song because of the memories that were attached to it. Dancing around Rhiannon's kitchen, screaming the lyrics while driving, and just the way Rhiannon danced when she first played the song.
The entire car knew every word and screaming it at the top of their lungs, dancing their hearts out.
At a red light, Matt glanced over at Rhiannon and saw she was having the time of her life dancing to the song that they all knew and loved. He smiled and kept driving. He thought she looked so beautiful just having fun. And it hurt him that she couldn't see herself the way he saw her. She'll never get to see how truly beautiful she is. He wished that he could just freeze the memory forever.

Rhiannon saved the photo that Val had sent to her. She loved everything about the picture. She loved the way it was taken while she was moving. The way the street lights poorly lit up the car. The way she was gravitating towards him. She loved the way that Matt was observing her. She loved the look in his eyes when he was just looking at her. She loved that she looked truly happy. She never looked like that in the pictures that she had with Joe.
This was the happiest that she had felt in her entire life. She was with her best friends. Life couldn't get any better.

Four hours later, the four teens pulled into their neighborhood after a very lively car ride. Half of the time, Chris, Nick, and Matt were debating whether they think being good looking or being smart is more important.
"I'll drive you home Rhi, since you live the furthest." Matt said driving past his house and Val's house. It was the truth. Valerie was next door neighbor it's with them, so she didn't have that long of a walk.
"Thank you." she smiled and looked at the road ahead of her.
Once she got to her house, Matt got out to "help" her with her bags.
"Did you just come back here to hug me goodnight?" Rhiannon raised an eyebrow and smirked lightly.
"Maybe." the boy in front of her leaned down to give her a long hug.
The two were quickly reminded of the people waiting in the van when Nick tapped on the back window and waved at the two awkwardly. Rhiannon stepped away and smiled like an idiot.
"And don't worry. I'm breaking up with Joe as soon as possible. You'll have your chance soon." Rhi kissed the boy's cheek.
Matt stood there flabbergasted.
"Goodnight dork." Rhi picked up her bag and quickly hugged him one last time. She started walking up her driveway to her front door.
"Is that your new name for me?" he asked crossing his arms.
"Yes it is. Dork." she joked.
"Alright. Nerd." he replied.
"Goodnight everyone. I love you all." Rhiannon waved goodbye to the group of teenagers in the minivan.

A/N i know this is my second update today. and it's pretty late for me but i'm trying to make up for the fact that i was sick and had no motivation to write. ANYWAYS. i'm so proud of the chapter. i think this is my favorite i've written so far. i didn't give as much dialogue as i usually do because i feel like that's all i do and i actually want to give you guys an actual story. please lmk how you like! love you! also 1.96k reads? that's literally insane.
