Kakashi and Sakura walked silently side by side with each other. Sakura's mind was preoccupied with the worries of the world and her two comrades while Kakashi could see his students getting affected by the unrest.

He knew it would happen. It's natural so as a teacher it's his job to take the trouble off his students.

“What’s wrong? ”. Kakashi asked right off the bat careful not to anger her, knowing how loose her temper is.

Sakura stayed silent for a minute before speaking, “Is he okay? Did he get any treatment?”. The words just flew out of her mouth because her heart has been asking this question oftentimes.

She didn't need to say Sasuke's name for Kakashi to know that she was asking about him. He knew that any information regarding Sasuke is S-rank and no one is allowed to discuss it even if it's merely a bruise but Kakashi relented on that.

If he didn't tell her such a piece of simple information like that, she'll overthink or get sick.

“He did, Tsunade-sama personally saw through it”. Kakashi grumbled.

She nodded, happy that at least someone told her something otherwise the number of times she has been to Tsunade-sama with the questions about his well-being would be humiliating.

They both sat on the bench nearby as Sakura absorbed the little piece of information from him.

“Will we ever be able to see him?”. She sniffed, burying her face in her hands.

Kakashi was caught off guard by her tears, sure he has seen her cry multiple times as a kid but as she matured she also began to hide her pain so it shocked him when he saw her cry so openly.

The solemn look on his face won't be the first time, a certain blond had asked the same question but with a little tantrum.

“I am not sure about that”. Kakashi pursed his lips as he rubbed her back for comfort.

Though it's not the first time he has heard the question, it still probes him like a shard when his students ask him questions like that and he doesn't have an answer. The question has been running around in his mind ever since the first time Naruto asked about it.

Kakashi acted professionally but he above all wanted to know the answer to the question as well.

Three years ago, Sasuke left the village in search of retribution and since that day, Kakashi has blamed himself for the fall of Team-7. Sakura and Naruto aren't aware of their teacher's dilemma. The constant guilt and incompetence always remind him that he could have done something to change it but again, when both his students are asking about Sasuke, he's still clueless about it as he was in the past.

He wants to do something for the only surviving Uchiha but in the position he is in, he can't do anything.

“But with his collaboration in the war and Naruto's stubbornness, I think we'll see him soon, we should”. The hope in Kakashi's voice was uncertain and Sakura sensed that but didn't say anything.

“He wasn't evil, he never was Kakashi-sensei”.

Kakashi nodded, suddenly remembering his late friend Uchiha Obito who also wasn't evil but lost and manipulated. Sasuke was the same, he was never evil in fact, he is a kind of a person who loves quite a lot which means the multitude of pain he feels is also tremendous. The pain overwhelmed Sasuke to the brim that darkness was all he could see and comprehend. He tried to walk away from it, and pay heed to Kakashi's advice but it became hard, the faces of his dead clan members used to vex him.
