Chapter 6

Sakura hurried in towards the ward early in the morning when every patient was sleeping, where Tsunade was standing with Shizune reviewing something crucial.

According to what Sakura has gathered from the reception, Sasuke has just been brought up in the special ward induced with Anastasia for precaution as they will have to carry on some tests and prods about his body.

Sakura closed in on the Hokage with her white coat on and pink hair flying everywhere. They have gotten quite long over four-five months as she never got the time to shorten it before the war and since, before then it's been growing. Even though she loves her long hair, she isn't in the habit of having such long hair anymore. She misses her short hair as they were convenient, nonetheless, it's been so long since she had long hair so she'll conserve them before cutting it a bit short.

"Sakura, ohayō". Tsunade greeted with quite a teasing voice as she noticed a new type of ambition and vitality in Sakura's eyes after so long.

(Good morning)

"Ohayō, Tsunade-sama and Shizune-san".

The kunoichi noticed the glint in her senior's eyes, the same kind she saw in Kakashi's eyes one month ago when he delivered the life-changing news.

The village has been thrilled at the notice of a new successor of the Hokage seat and people have even started calling him 'Kakashi-sama' even though he isn't the Hokage officially.
Kakashi, as usual, hates the attention and formality towards him but it was bound to happen, the only reassurance is that his team 7 does not use those formalities, yet.

"He's inside. Start administering the test and the procedure accordingly. Shizune will be with me throughout the day as usual so I'll send another medical ninja for your assistance". Tsunade proclaimed with a piercing watch as Sakura felt the need to blush, feeling as if everyone one is poking fun at her upon his name.

Over time the number of patients has been overwhelming the hospital and the Hokage has been equally busy as Sakura along with Shizune who assists her sensei which generally leaves Sakura alone herself. Otherwise, in the past, either Shizune or Tsunade would always be there with her.

"Daijōbu, I got this under control". Sakura smiled reassuringly.

"I know that". Tsunade grinned earning a pout from her.

"Tsunade-sama!". Sakura whined like a child and both the elder ladies chuckled before walking away.

Sakura shook her head, brushing away their comments as she slid the door open. Her eyes immediately froze over Sasuke's sleeping form and she suddenly had this impulse to cry. The solace and the agony she felt for him were suffocating her insides and brimming on her eyelids.

He's finally here.

He looked so naive while sleeping like there was no pain in the world and Sakura wished there was none for Sasuke had enough. Bandages were wrapped around his neck, right hand, and left arm. His face looked paler than before and she can surely tell, he has lost weight.

Seeing the men she loves in such a condition was crumbling.

She walked over to him, standing beside his bed. She ghostly caressed his face promising to herself, "I will recover you back to health. I promise".

The sound of someone entering pulled her away. The assistant was here with the required medic tools to start the test.

"Ohayō..."Sakura greeted waiting for the brunette to introduce herself.
