"Ooh this is my jam!" I smiled and swayed my hips back and forth to Ludacris' & Pharrell's hit single "Money Maker."
The big ballers were definitely out tonight and I couldn't wait to touch my paper by the end of this party. I had had a few too many drinks and the party had just started.
"You getting it girl!" Mercedes came up from behind her on her skates. "I didn't know you could skate."
"I love to skate!" I exclaimed. "I've been skating ever since I was a little girl."
"Awww look at you," Mercedes cooed and took a hit from the blunt between her fingers. "Isn't that cute."
"Milan!"
I turned my head to see who was calling me. MV waved at me from the cafe which she was accompanied by her man, Marvel and their daughter, Kayla.
I said goodbye to Mercedes and skated over to their table. I greeted them before MV pulled me away from the table. By the look on her face, I could tell something was wrong.
"Have you heard from Cat? I've been calling her and she hasn't been answering. Did she ride with you?"
"No.. she told me she was going to catch up with me and some of the girls. That was almost an hour ago." I replied. "She's probably with Baby D. He not here either."
MV sighed a sigh of relief it sounded liked and nodded her head. "Ok. I just get so nervous about y'all. Im not in the house anymore and I want y'all to be safe."
"Mhm. How are you and Marvel doing?" I asked, changing the subject.
MV glanced at the table where her baby daddy and child sat and sighed heavily. "He's been drinking more and more lately. It's starting to get out of control."
Marvel used to be one of MV's clients before he found herself "madly in love" and wanting to marry her. They never got married but they did have a child. The girls knew some about their relationship but not much since MV barely came around anymore. I knew about Marvel's drinking habits but I thought he was doing better now.
"He's becoming more angrier and he's been taking it out on me and K."
"And you haven't done anything?" I questioned. Who just let a man beat on her and her kid? MV talked so much shit.. now she couldn't even stand up for herself.
"What am I supposed to do Milan? That's why I've been trying to get in contact with Cat. She always has the best advice."
I didn't say anything else. Of course Maleah and I had our differences but damn. I had been around just as long as MV, Cat, and Maya and I still got treated like the water boy when it came to our friendships.
