Akaashi sat across from Kenma. The man didn't look anything like what he had expected. He wasn't sure what he thought he would look like? Maybe taller, older, more boss like. Nope this was a kid! Someone who didn't look any older than he was.

Kenma was small, sort of resembling a child dressed up in his parents clothing. His two toned colored hair really suited him though. Akaashi noticed the bags under the guys eyes. He wondered why he hadn't been sleeping well. He watched as Kenma flicked his brown eyes to the man standing just behind his shoulder. Tetsuro Kuroo was like a hulking shadow to the kid.

"Um, right no that's not a problem." Akaashi stated as they heard one of the testers yelling. He found it funny actually. It sounded a bit like Bokuto. He missed the owl headed guy.

"OK, so you're here for the design position. Did you bring your portfolio?" Kenma asked. Akaashi lifted the large black bag like tablet up to the desk. Kenma's eyes widened. Kuroo helped the former setter set the bag down.

Akaashi had always had mixed feelings about the middle blocker. On his own, he had found Kuroo interesting. He had a knack for finding out just what set a person off. He used that to piss his opponents off in games. Unless it was directed at him or his team, Akaashi had found this quiet entertaining. That being said, off the court there were times when Kuroo would go a bit over the top.

This wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but Akaashi found it slightly unsettling. Then there was Kuroo's close friendship with Bokuto. Akaashi wasn't sure if friends was the correct word he would use to describe what the two were to each other. Bokuto often referred to Kuroo like he was some genius God.

It was that look in the aces eyes that he got whenever he spoke of or saw the rooster head. Akaashi wanted to smash Kuroo's face in with the ball when ever he saw it. Kuroo was smart and knew how to play Bokuto. Akaashi never liked that.

Of course it was more likely that the reason he had such mixed feelings about the other man was because of his stronger feeling for Bokuto. As an artist, they didn't make a more pleasing form than one Bokuto Kotaro. Watching him jump for sets was a pleasure known to little. Akaashi smirked at the thought.

"Oh, you know Bokuto?" Kenma asked suddenly. Akaashi felt his face heat up as he was just thinking about how perfect his owl headed former teammate's ass was.

"Um, yes why do you ask?" He blinked at the cherub looking face peering at him.

"You drew him." Kenma pointed to a picture in his portfolio. Akaashi stood to lean over the desk.

"Oh, my apologies. That shouldn't have been in there. But, um, yes we went to school together. He was my ace in volleyball." He explained.

"Oh, that's good, since you will be working with him here." Kenma smiled.

"Does that mean...?" Akaashi glanced at Kuroo.

"It does. You have the job. Bokuto is out on assignment until next Friday. Can you start Monday?" Kenma asked.

"As in three days from now Monday? Or next Monday?" Akaashi clarified.

"Three days. That way we can show you around. Get you settled and everything before Bokuto comes back." Kenma stated.

"Yes, thank you, I can do that." Akaashi smiled.

"Great, Kuroo will take you down to see Kyoko. She will get you set up with all of the new hire paper work." Kenma stood. The massive desk dwarfed his already small stature. He held his hand out. Akaashi reached over to grasp the somewhat clammy feeling hand.

"Welcome aboard." Kenma's smile was sweet. Akaashi thought. He shook the hand thanking him again.

"Follow me Keiji." Kuroo stated lifting the heavy portfolio off of the desk. Akaashi took it back. They walked from the office.
