The next few weeks were some of the best times for all of them.

After a while, and lots of talking, they had all agreed to become polyamorous.

Dream was dating George and HD.
HD was dating Dream.
George was dating Dream and DreamXD.
DreamXD was dating George.
Obviously Dream and XD were just friends, same with George and HD.

When it came to XD and HD, they agreed to be friends because even though HD still loved XD, XD could never love him back. That was just the way it was.

Honestly, it pained XD because he has been in love with HD but permanently removed his feelings. He constantly thought about what he could have had.

They all went on dates. From picnics to watching movies. Holding hands, snuggling and even kissing.
They loved each other, respected each other.
Polyamory was working great for them.
Everything was going great.

Until it wasn't.

Both George and HD fell ill with an unknown virus.
That was peculiar because gods do not get sick, especially HD.

HD was still up and walking, occasionally throwing up. However, George had been completely bed-ridden. He struggled to move, sometimes even holding a bottle of water was difficult.

It was like this for a few days. XD spent all his efforts figuring out what illness had stricken them. Dream on the other had wss taking care of them, making sure that they weren't over exerting themselves.

"Rest" Dream told HD for the third time that day, after HD tried to get up from the sofa to get a glass of water.

"But.. But I'm fine really. " He said, his voice was croaky because his throat was raw from throwing up.

"I'll get you the glass of water, now sit." Dream said, lightly pushing HD to the sofa.

He headed to the Kitchen to grab the glass of water.
Letting the tap run cold for a moment, he filled up the glass half way and headed back.

There he saw XD sitting down at the table, surrounded by hundreds of books pilled on top of each other.

"How's it coming along?" He asked.

"Not good." XD scowled slightly.

Dream let out a slight 'oh' sound followed by a sigh.

"I'm sure there is something, we can't give up hope yet." Dream said, trying to sound reassuring.

Was it true though? Was there something. I mean an illness that can infect a god, whoever heard of such a thing? It was impossible.

"I just...." XD began. "I don't understand. It would be fine if George was the only one ill but HD as well. It makes no sense. Not only is he a god but he's the crown Prince of them. It's impossible. I mean it's impossible for a god to get sick, let alone the prince of the gods. It makes no sense. And these books aren't helping. All of your mortal illness aren't what has infected them both. And gods have no books on any illnesses since we don't need them, so trying to find one is useless. "
He ranted.

It was obvious in his voice that he was panicked. They both were.

Dream sighed. No words were needed.

He turned away and went to go give HD his water.

Once again this went on for days and days and days, so many it was hard to keep track of.
Around the middle, there was a slight improvement seen in them both.

But that only lasted for a day or two.

It was full of ups and downs. Had and George were both sleep deprived and tired all the time. Which was again, unusual. They both slept fine and HD was a god, so sleep wasn't needed.

"Argh" XD cried out, pushing the books from the table off of the door.
"Every single medical book. Both old and new. I have read every single one and not a single one has answers. Not a single one explain what is happening."

"Is it useless then?" Dream said, his voice sullen.

XD faced contorted into anger then sadness then grief and then back to sadness.

"Yes." He responded.

That single word. The word Dream hoped and prayed he would not say.
That single word shifted his mood from hopeful to hopeless.

Bang!

It echoed into the kitchen where both XD and Dream were.
Either George or HD had done something to cause that noise.

Had they dropped something?

No neither of them could lift up something so heavy to make that noise.

Had something fallen over?

Once again the likelihood of that wasn't very high.

The only other thing that could have happened was....

One of them had fallen over.

In a rush both of them had ran to the source of the noise. Questions were filling their heads.

Who was it?

Was it George or HD?

Are they hurt?

How did they fall?

How far has the fallen?

The house, thankfully, was one story. This meant neither of them could have fallen down a flight of stairs.
That was something that allowed a bit of relief and hope onto whatever happened.

They both reached the source of the noise to see both HD and George standing up, George holding onto HD's arms. HD was holding a book.

"Sorry about that. We haven't walken in a while." HD was the first to speak after seeing the other two.

"But how? You're alright, you don't look sick." XD questioned, looking stunned.

"I told you I was alright. I just needed to wait a while to get this book. It always takes a long time to arrive after summoning it." HD said, nonchalantly like what he said was normal.

"But that doesn't explain why you were ill in the first place." Dream said, confused.

"I had forgotten this book existed. I had erased my own memories of it. I think that I did it for a reason, a purpose. Getting sick was like the after math of remembering about the books existence. And obviously the time period where me and George got a bit better was during the time I was summoning the book. "

" Ok. But why was George also affected? " XD asked.

It was clear that there was a confusion amongst all of them.

HD let go of George's grip and walked over to HD, handing him the book.

"I think the book explains it. " HD said.
