The lit torches were the only source of light, they shined on loose treasures as Jack rowed the dinghy in the dark tunnel. Josephine shivered at the sight of a skeleton,

"What code is Gibbs to keep to if the worst should happen?" Will questioned, looking at Jack.

"Pirate's code. Any man who falls behind is left behind." Jack answered. Will cast a look to Josephine realizing this was the reason why she was upset. Like hell I'd let Jack leave her behind—he thought to himself.

"No heroes amongst thieves, eh?" Will remarked, looking forward.

"For having such a bleak outlook on pirates, you're well on your way to becoming one as is Miss Smith." Jack mused, Will squinted ahead while Josephine looked down in thought. "Sprung a man from jail, commandeered a ship of the fleet, sailed with a buccaneer crew out of Tortuga along with a pitiless pirate, and you're completely obsessed with treasure." He listed, Will looked at the treasure in the water with interest while Josephine casted a glance at Jack.

Jack, Josephine and Will stepped out of the dinghy when they hit land, "That's not true. I'm not obsessed with treasure." Will denied as he dragged the dinghy on shore as Jack pushed it while Josephine walked past them.

"Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate." Jack stated as he looked in front making Will follow his gaze to see Josephine enter the tunnel. They followed her and saw Barbossa and Elizabeth with his crew around the place.

"Gentlemen, the time has come! Our salvation is nigh! Our torment is near an end!" Barbossa shouted.

"Elizabeth." Josephine quietly breathed, relieved to see her sister, unharmed.

"For ten years we've been tested and tried, and each man here has proved his mettle a hundred times over and a hundred times again!" Barbossa proclaimed causing his crew to cheer. "Punished we were, the lot of us, disproportionate to our crime!" The crowd cheered yet again. "Here it is!" Barbossa exclaimed, kicking the chest's cover off revealing gold tokens. "The cursed treasure of Cortez himself. Every last piece that went astray, we have returned. Save for this!" Barbossa pointed to Elizabeth.

"Jack!" Josephine quietly exclaimed as she went to step forward only for Jack to pull her back, "Not yet!"

"We wait for the opportune moment." Jack told her, turning around and walking away.

"When's that? When it's of greatest profit to you?" Josephine spat as she caught up to him with Will on her trail.

"May I ask you something." Jack said as he stopped. He turned and walked up to her, "Have I ever given you reason not to trust me? Do us a favor, I know it's difficult for you, but please stay here, both of you, and try not to do anything stupid." He lectured. Josephine clenched her jaw as she watched him walk away.
