Erik POV
Even with no makeup and wearing her loungewear, Christine was the most beautiful creature he's had ever seen. Even in a crowd, he would be able to make out her silhouette and pick her out. He could tell when Charlotte gave him her butterfly eyes that Christine was scowling under her breath, but he made sure not to look at her once as he parted the crowd and went to open his classroom door for the very last time. He walked to the front of the classroom and put down his leather bag as the class all took their seats.
"Class," Erik started, making sure his eyes roamed every student's face so he could glance at least for one second at Christine, "This has been a year in the making as I am so proud of all of you and the work that you have put in so we can have the best end of the year showcase. For the next few hours, you will be working on your acts and I will be coming around to help with anything you may need."
"How would we be able to practice with us all in the same room," Charlotte asked, giving Erik more butterfly eyes.
"There will be practice rooms open for you to use on your own or with a partner," Erik said, feeling a friendly smile form.
Christine POV
What was Charlotte's problem? Christine stared at her with daggers as Charlotte kept batting her annoying eyes in Erik's direction. Christine tried to shake Charlotte out of her mind so she looked down at her desk, balling her fists again. The class finally split up to go and practice in the rooms and naturally, Meg and Christine went to go sing to each other a few doors down from the original classroom.
Christine didn't even look at Erik when she left the room as she just wanted to keep calm and wait for the day to be over.
"Okay," Meg started, "Can I go first and you after? I just need more practice than you do as you are perfect."
"Oh, my, geez," Christine giggled, "I am not perfect, but go ahead, Meg."
Meg had a great voice, it was a bit airy but it was really good. She sang a song a few times with Christine stopping her to comment and help her friend.
As the hour passed, Christine and Meg decided to take a break and gossip. Christine let out a sigh of frustration.
"What's wrong?" Meg asked, as she lifted her arms up to stretch.
"I don't know, I just don't know what is going to happen with Erik after this. Sunday is so close, it's getting very real."
Meg walked over and sat on the desk across from Christine. "Well, duh it's real, Christine. Thankfully you took a year off to figure it all out with him."
"Hope Bella won't freak out," Christine said as she thought about how Bella would react to a strange man interested in the young girl she was.
"That's what my mom is helping with. She's going to explain to her about her and dad and how they were years apart too! It'll all work out, Christine."
A minute or two later the girls heard a knock come from the classroom door. Meg went over and opened the door and let Eric into the room.
"Madamoiselle's," Erik said, as he walked into the classroom.
Christine's heart started beating faster just from his presence alone. Something about him made her feel whole, feel wanted. She wasn't sure if it was because of hormones, but her inside warmed so fast that she needed to cross her legs and sit still to keep herself from diving at him.
"Are you both ready for today?" Erik smoothed his hair back, resting his hand on the back of his neck. His eyes went from Meg's face and landed on Christine's.
