{3rd Person POV}
The walk there took a long time. Luckily, Y/N's leg had mostly healed by now. It appears that injuries heal rather quickly in this universe. How convenient.
Finally, they arrived at her island. It had a cold atmosphere and everything was dull in color. Nevertheless, this did not bother Y/N. If anything, they were even more excited by the new atmosphere. They found Grimora sitting on a picnic blanket between a few tombstones.
"Hello, Apprentice! I am glad to see that you showed up. And the Scrybe of Beasts, it's been a minute, hasn't it? I was not expecting you to come with them. It's nice that you care for them so much," she gave them a close-eyed smile, knowing that the last part would irritate Leshy a bit. Leshy just scowled a bit.
The two sat down and grabbed two cups that had perfect temperature chamomile tea in them. Y/N drank it happily. Leshy just held his cup in silence. "Oh quit sulking, Leshy. You should be happy that you're getting a change of scenery for once," said Grimora, clearly noting his mopey attitude. Y/N looked over at him with a soft smile, as if to say that she was right. Leshy gave into the peer pressure and began to drink his tea.
Quickly, a conversation ensued, most of which Leshy tried to be no part of. However, that aloofness did not last long once the topics got more serious. Y/N began to tell Grimora more about their personal life and time back home. They reveal their battle with anxiety and depression, and their past acts of self-harm and suicide attempts.
They also delved into their family life issues. Y/N never had a good relationship with their father. When they were little, they locked themselves in their room and would hide in their closet when their parents would yell and fight. He was a heavy drinker and would verbally abuse their mother often.
Unfortunately, Y/N was also the main focus of a lot of their arguments. He claimed that their mom "brainwashed" them into liking her more. In reality, it was not their mother's fault at all. They were just flat-out scared of his mean and aggressive nature.
Y/N also revealed a huge fear of theirs that developed from this: when men yell/raise their voices. Even the slightest bit makes their stomach sink and they become horrified and want to cry. This made Leshy think about last night. How Y/N blocked their ears when they were waiting for his response to them messing up. How they didn't want to look at him because they were crying. A wave of guilt ran over him.
"Ah. Sorry for rambling on about all of this! I haven't seen a therapist in a while so I guess my thoughts all built up and I found an opportunity to dump it all out," Y/N said, feeling a little guilty.
"Oh, no worries dear! It has been a long time since I've been able to talk to someone like this. I have always enjoyed listening to the life stories of others." Y/N felt a little better when they felt the truthfulness of her response.
"Apprentice, how come you never told me about any of this?" Leshy asked bluntly, slightly bothered that they've withheld so much information.
"Well, I had a feeling that you wouldn't care and you're a little mean sometimes, so I decided that there was no point in letting you know. Plus, Granny is very nice and seems to actually care! Well, now you know as well. Bet you're glad that you tagged along for this tea party, huh?" Y/N and Grimora giggled, her response was mostly because of the nickname you gave her.
Leshy just scoffed and sipped his tea. Deep down, Y/N's words pierced like daggers. He's aware that he's got a tough and cold exterior and personality, but hearing their lack of trust he felt... bad. Especially since they just met Grimora yesterday but they've known him, let alone, have been living with him, for a few weeks now.
"We ought to get going, Apprentice. You still have chores to do." Leshy abruptly got up and Y/N did too, a little startled.
"Oh, sorry. I thought I was done with chores for the day. Sorry that we're leaving so soon Granny. I will make sure to visit you again soon!" Leshy had already started to walk away and Y/N ran to catch up to him.
"I'm looking forward to seeing you again, Apprentice! I thoroughly enjoyed your company. Goodbye," she smiled and waved as the two of you left. Y/N turned and waved bye.
The walk back was silent. Y/N walked a little further behind than usual. They could tell that Leshy wasn't happy right now, so they let him have his space to think. Eventually, they made it back to the cabin. Leshy sat down at the table and started carving a wooden figure and Y/N went and cleaned the glass off the porch that they had broken the previous night.
After some time, things felt normal again and the uncomfortable atmosphere had diminished.
