Dizzy!

{3rd Person POV}

         The sun has begun to set while the two were making their way back to the cabin.  The sky has turned to a pastel pink and purple above the clouds. Mourning doves could be heard from the surrounding forest as well as the rummaging of some rabbits who were coming out for their dinner.

         Y/N was following behind Leshy, albeit a little slower than they previously were. Leshy had picked up on this and turned around to see what the hold-up was. Y/N was walking with their head down and they were slightly dragging their feet with each step.

         "What's wrong with you? Tired already? Keep up." He turned back around to keep walking, but he no longer heard the small steps behind him. He turned around yet again to berate them. However, Y/N was now sitting on the ground with their legs crossed and their head bent down into their lap.

         "...Sorry Mister Leshy... You can go on ahead and I will catch up. I just feel a little dizzy and sick right now." They tilted their head up to give him a reassuring closed-eye smile, but there was clearly pain behind them.

         Leshy was visibly confused by this behavior. He wondered if this was a trait unique to humans, but that did not seem to be correct. He contemplated leaving them there as they suggested but ultimately decided against it. He crouched down across from them.

         "What's this about? Are you sick, or are you just tired from walking perhaps?" He interrogated a few more questions, trying to get to the bottom of it. Y/N finally spoke up again.

         "I think... I'm just dealing with some withdrawal symptoms from my medications. I've dealt with this before so I should be fine." They tried to stand themselves back up but fell back down onto their bottom. "Damnit," they cursed to themselves, "hold on. I'm just super dizzy right now and my vision is a little doubled heh heh."

         Leshy just stood there as they kept attempting to pathetically pick themselves up and failing. Finally, they just lay on their back and gave up.

         "Well, now I feel disoriented AND like I'm gonna throw up. Go on ahead. If I don't eventually make it back, then I probably have been eaten by coyotes," they said with a thumbs up and closed their eyes.

         Suddenly, a big pair of hands reached over and scooped them up and placed them on their feet. Leshy got tired of waiting but didn't have the heart to leave. It felt like leaving an injured fawn to die. He turned around and crouched down in front of them.

         "I'll carry you," he said, flatly. Y/N paused for a second but decided to take him up on the kind gesture. They wrapped their arms around his neck and he supported their legs over his arms. He adjusted the bags in his hands and began walking again.

'Ah. This is very high up,' Y/N thought to themselves. "Thank you. You really didn't have to do this. Let me know if you get tired from carrying me and I'll try to walk again. I can carry some of the bags up here if you'd like," they said quietly, not wanting to shout in his ear.

         "Do not thank me. I made this decision because I felt like it. I will not get tired; you are weightless to me. And no, you will just drop everything and make the journey longer than it already is," he said sternly and he kept his gaze forward as he walked. Y/N smiled to themselves, knowing that they would, in fact, drop everything.

         A minute goes by, then five, then fifteen when Leshy heard light soring over his shoulder. Then, he felt the grip around his neck begin to loosen and Y/N began to slip backward. He quickly leaned forward and bent down to the ground. 'Tch. They fell asleep. How am I supposed to get them back now?' He pondered for a moment then came up with a solution. 'I guess this will work.'

         He maneuvered their body so it was now draped over his shoulder, facing his back. This way, he can keep them from falling while holding their legs against his chest. Also, he can still carry the bags and their hat comfortably. Easy fix.

         They are finally within 5 minutes of Leshy's cabin. It has been a long day and he was ready to do nothing. He thought about the food Y/N grabbed from the market. He has no idea what they grabbed or what their plan for preparing it is considering he eats everything raw and infrequently.

{Y/N's POV}

         I slowly woke up when I noticed my body swaying a little more than it previously was. I also noticed that there was some pressure in my head. I opened my eyes fully and was a little startled when I noticed that I was not in piggyback form anymore. Instead, I was draped over Mister Leshy's shoulder. Not only that, I felt my face heat up when I realized that he was squeezing my thighs against him.

         "Ah! I'm s-sorry Mister L-Leshy! I didn't mean to f-fall asleep!" I quickly spoke up to let him know I was awake. I sort of wished that I just pretended to stay asleep so it wouldn't be as awkward.

         "Huh? Oh right. I forgot that you were even here," he lightly chuckled to himself. "Worry not, human, we are back. I'd make you walk if we weren't almost there. Hold still or you'll fall and crack your skull, human." He grabbed me tighter, clearly not understanding the predicament I was in.

         I have always been super insecure about myself. My face, chest, stomach, legs, you name it. I usually prefer to hide under loose clothing such as baggy jeans and a sweatshirt double my size. Since coming here, all I've had is a sweatshirt that has been removed to clean the blood (I am waiting for it to dry), a tank top, and shorts. I feel super exposed to the world, and it is such an unfamiliar and uncomfortable feeling. At least I have a cape now to help me out.

         Before I could even think of what to say, I heard the cabin door twist open and I was placed down in a chair. 'Thank go that's over,' I think to myself with a sigh of relief. At least I'm feeling a little better now, so I can help put stuff away. I got up to put my food in a cool space.

         "Y/N." I jumped a little, forgetting that Mister Leshy was still here. "Yes? Do you need something?" I asked.

         "No, I was just curious about your medications and why they caused that to happen," he said as he sat down and started polishing his new tools. Honestly, I was a little surprised that he'd want to know about my medicine.

         "Well," I start, "I have two medications that I take every day: Escitalopram and Lamotrigine. The first is used to treat depression and anxiety, and the latter is also for depression. However, I suffer from discontinuation syndrome. When I abruptly stop taking my medicine, I feel the withdrawal effects very fast and very intensely. It's usually just nausea and vertigo. So if I ever complain about that, do not worry. Though it isn't common, it's still a nuisance to deal with."

         I got lost in my words as I rambled on and didn't even realize that I had finished putting stuff away and had sat down across from him. I noticed that was staring at me and he laughed.

         My face blushed a little and burned up. "What the hell do you think your laughing at? I was explaining my pain and agony to you. Were you even listening?" I hid my face in my hands, embarrassed.

         "My apologies. It was just interesting to see you look so serious. You even had your hands folded in front of you with your chin resting on them," he stated with another chuckle. "No, in all honesty, I heard you and I'm sorry to hear that you have that problem, Y/N."

         "Yeah yeah, whatever." I pulled my legs up onto my chair and rested my chin on my knees, and picked at the skin around my nails. "Thank you for carrying me earlier," I said without looking up.

         "Mhm," he just hummed in response and went back to polishing. I decided that it was about time that I make myself something to eat before I wither away.
