September 15

Brielle Mae knocked on the dark red front door. She stepped back as she waited for a response. Standing outside of her birth mother's house, Brielle bit her lip nervously as she waited for her mother in hopes she would be there.

No response.

"Baby" Brielle turned around to see Tobias standing a few feet away from her. Tobias gave her a soft smile and opened his arms causing her to take in a shaky breath.

"Dad I-I don't know what to do. She just was talking to me. How can s-she just disappear" Brielle walked down the small porch steps and into her father's open arms. Hugging him, Brielle couldn't help the tears that ran down her cheeks.

"It's okay baby." Tobias rubs her back as he kisses her forehead lightly. "We will find her. I promise"

"I can't lose her again dad I-I can't"

Brielle Mae sat on her bed in her apartment with her covers wrapped around her as she sniffled lightly. After spending a few hours with her family, Brielle returned home and refused to leave her bed.

After trying to watch a movie and failing, Brielle just spent the last thirty minutes simply staring at her wall. Her mind was running with so many thoughts of her mom and where she could be.

Jumping in fright, Brielle looked down at her ringing phone to see it was Chris calling her. Debating if she wanted to answer or not, Brielle sighed and clicked the green button for answer.

"Elle? I just heard" Chris says into the phone as soon as Brielle answers the call. She sighs and nods even though he can't see her. "Want me to come over?" He then asks.

"No, It's okay."

"Are you sure Elle? I just got off work so I can come if you would like."

Brielle shook her head and decided to put him speaker as she shifted on the bed. "No. I'll be alright. I'll see you tomorrow for class" She tells him, not really feeling up for visitors.

"Are you sure?"

Brielle tells him yes and he mumbles a quiet okay before he tells her he loves and forbids her a good bye. She hangs up the phone and sets it back down on her nightstand before laying back down.

Now all Brielle wanted to do is sleep.

Hours later, Brielle was roaming through her fridge and groaned as she realized she needed to buy groceries. Grabbing her slides, she slipped them on and grabbed her keys; leaving out the front door.

The closest grocery store was only ten minutes away from Brielle so it barely took her long to arrive. She grabbed a buggy and pushed through the store, grabbing whatever she needed.
