Shoulder to lean on

Chapter Eight

"Grace..." he says looking at me worried 

"I'm fine Kit it was just a bad dream." I said 

Kit knew better than to believe what I say. "Ok well I here if you need me." he says going back to bed. 

I lay there crying for a little while. I thought I was being quiet until I hear Kit roll over and say "Grace if you want you can come up to my bed." 

I think about it for a while but I do need a Kit hug right now. I don't say anything and get into his bed and he wraps his arms around me and I cuddle into his chest and I cry. "I'm sorry Kit." I sobbed 

"Why are you sorry?" he asked 

"I woke you up with one of my stupid nightmares." I say quietly 

He looks down on me and says "Never apologise again ok you are not allowed to say that word." 

I look up at him and hug him "Thank you Kit for everything." I shortly fell asleep hugging Kit I woke up the next morning in the same position. I felt safe with him. I felt like I couldn't be hurt with him. 

"Morning" I hear him say from above me. 

I looked up and smiled. "Morning. Sorry I didn't mean to fall als..."

"Grace shush its ok as long as you got a goods night rest that's all that matters." he said 

"Thanks Kit but did you sleep after I woke you up." I asked slightly concerned 

He looked at me "Yes I did actually." 

Okay I didn't feel as bad I thought he hadn't slept. We played in bed for a little longer and we started watching Season Two of vampire diaries as it was really early and we didn't have to be up yet. I made Kit watch it after the first season he really didn't wanna watch anymore but I said to him that it will get better. 

It was now time to go to school. I was a little nervous to be honest. I was scared that Lisa was gonna find me. Kit could see I was on edge. "Grace you don't have to go in today and I will stay with you if you want." he says giving me a reassuring smile. 

"No it's fine I can't miss school. We have mocks soon." I say in response. 

He gave me a big hug "are you sure." 

"I'm sure Kit we need to leave." I said looking at the time. 

"Just tell me or message me if you get uncomfortable. Ok?" he looks at me. I nod. 

We walk to school and I see her car outside the school. I stop in my tracks. "Grace..." Kit looks at me. 

Luckily Lisa hadn't seen me. "I...I...I.. she... she.." I start breathing heavier and heavier. Kit hugged me  "We are going home Grace." Kit said. 

"No you stay I go." I stutter.

"Absolutely not. I'm not leaving you alone." he said strongly. I didn't have the energy to argue with him I just nodded and we turned around and went back to Kit home. 

We got back to Kits house. I had sort of calmed down. We stepped through the door.  "Kit, Grace why are you home already." Kits mum asked 

"Grace isn't in the right frame of mind to be in school right now mum and I wish to stay with her I will email our teacher to let them know we won't be in." Kit explained 

Kits mum nodded. I went upstair and I screamed into a pillow on my bed. Kit came up behind me and hugged me. I jumped a little. "Shhhhhhh Grace its just me." Kit said in his calming voice
