I crossed my legs getting comfortable on the kitchen counter as I started on my peanut butter and jam sandwiches and oversized mug of coffee.

It had been almost an hour since I've been back from my date and I was starving.

"you're abnormally hungry." Samke started.

She turned her attention away from the sink full of dishes she was washing, a curious smirk on her face as if she was prompting me to spill.

"are you fat shaming me Samke?" I said jokingly, and she chuckled to herself, shaking her head and refocusing her attention on the task at hand.

"hey I'm just saying, we didn't save you dinner because you went on a date. Which traditionally consists of a meal being shared." she said throwing her hands up in a shrug.

I thought back to how the date ended. I was disappointed and slightly surprised but hey it could've gone worse.

" well it wasn't exactly a traditional date." I said making air quotation marks

" he had a home emergency immediately after the movie ended so we couldn't get food. Plus not all dates have to involve food. " I explained lying.

He did have to rush back home, that part was true. It didn't sound like an emergency and we also stopped at burger King to get his little sister some food.

" so he starved you on your first date? " she jeered

" he got me popcorn and other snacks. He didn't starve me." I defended. Getting worked up.

Which only made her laugh.

"Anyways... " she said deflecting

"could you be a darling and pack up these dishes when I'm done?" It was more of an instruction than a question.

"no problem." I said before stuffing a handful of chips into my mouth. 

"you really like this guy neh?" she asked after a few minutes of silence.

"is it that obvious?" I asked back, we both laughed.

"what do you like about him?" she probed. I made a thinking face as I searched through the crevices of my mind for the right answer.

" what do I like about Edward?"

The question echoed in my mind and Samke looked at me with a raised eyebrow before saying

" you need more time to think about it?"

I scoffed at how ridiculous her question was and fought a smile that was growing on my face.

" Its hard to decide. Between his smile, that makes me feel like everything is going to be okay or his arms and abs. His body is perfect. " I said getting distracted

"Or maybe his thick lips that give the most amazing kisses! And his face, My God it's so pretty i just want to sit on it! " I exclaimed and Samke threw a wet dish cloth at me and I swiftly dodged it laughing hard at the cringed out face she was making.

"Remind me to never talk about boys with you." she said as I calmed my laughter down.

I picked up the dish cloth and got down from the counter and started wiping the dishes and packing them.

I conversation switched to her office drama. Something about her work besties baby daddy selling his family home(a mansion) for 200k to start a business and now his shacking up with her at her grandparents house.

She's 8 months and is planning to work until she's 2 weeks shy of her due date.

The whole thing was wild. It was almost 11 pm when i finally got into bed. Reuniting with my phone again.
