Chapter 11 - Brave Shine

"Wait wasn't (y/n) exhausted, just a few minutes ago?" Hailey looks to Eve, who just shrugs her shoulders. "Aubrey?" Hailey looked to the girl with long brown hair, tied into a bun.

"I-I d-don't know, s-sorry."

"Okay well thanks anyways." Hailey huffed.

"He's a cockroach." A voice spoke from behind Hailey and Eve. "Just when you think he's gone, he comes back three times as annoying." Hailey turned to see Kaeden glaring at the scream.

"Let's go (y/n)!" Hailey, Eve, Aubrey and Kaeden all turn their attention to a kid with Spikey blue hair.

"Looks like (y/n) found himself supporter." A feminine voice giggled as it approached.

"Maisie." Kaeden scoffed.

"And hello to you, grumpy." The purple haired girl laughed. "It's nice to know, some things never change."

"Whatever." Kaden rolled his eyes.

"You know Kaeden?" Hailey asked.

"I went to the same school as him and (y/n)." Maisie laughed as Kaeden once again tolled his eyes.

"You're just as annoying as that human cockroach." Kaeden huffed as he walked away.

"Just as cold as ever." Maisie shrugged her shoulder and sighed.

"I don't know Kaeden all that well, and I honestly don't want to, but has he always been such an asshole?" Eve asked.

"He was always been a bit stuck up, but he really got bad when his powers manifested." Maisie's eyes followed Kaeden as he marched over to one of the small monitors. "We didn't really talk much after he got them, but if I had to venture a guess, he probably started acting like that because of his grandfather. I only met him once when we were kids, but even then I could tell he was a jackass."

"Come on (y/n)! Kick Mr.Strauss' short ass!" The blue haired kid yelled out, once again gaining Hailey, Eve, Aubrey and Maisie's attention.

Maisie chuckles lightly, and whispered to herself. "I'm glad (y/n) managed to find someone else who can believe in him." Maisie and the others turned their attention back to the large monitor.

(Y/n)'s pov

"Where's the bravado you had when you sucker punched me." Levi kicks me into Elliott's cage, and I slide down the cold iron bars.

"(Y/n), you can't let him kick you like that, you gotta dodge." Elliott leaned against the bars.

"Thanks for the advice." I roll my eyes.

"You're welcome bud."

"That was sarcasm Elliott." I roll out of the way as Levi kicks the cage bending one of the bars.

"See like that nice dodge!"

"Elliott not helping!" I duck two more kicks and block a third one.

"You're not to bad." Levi remarked as I caught his kick. He smirked as he landed a kick, with his free leg, to my abdomen. "You just lack experience." Using the leg I lost control of Levi, knees me in the abdomen causing me to lean forward allowing him to drive his other knee into my face. Instantly I could hear my left orbital bone shatter, and feel my nose and mouth feel with the taste and scent of iron, as hot red liquid began to pour from my face.

I stumble back grabbing onto the cage for support. Weakly I look up as my vision begins to fade in and out, on it's own my body tried to move out of the way, as Levi approached me, but I couldn't even so much as flinch. Was it because of fear and anxiety, or was it from the sheer amount of damage I've went through, I wasn't able to come to a conclusion as my thought was interrupted by Levi pressing his foot against my neck.

I gasped for air, as I tried to push his foot off of me, but it was hopless. My body was to weak to stop him. This is it, this is my limit... When I blinked the time between my eye lids opening began to become shorter and shorter each time they closed.

"You can feel it can't you... the obvious difference between our power?" Levi lets me go, and I collapse, falling, next to him.

Before I could even attempt to stand, an alarm went off. "End of the round!" A voice spoke.

"Looks like times up." Levi walks past me, and I can hear the metal from the cage rattling, before Elliott helps me up to my feet.

"You're not complete dog shit." Levi says as he walks past the two of us.
