(Y/n)'s Pov

Annie becareful. I think to myself as I stare down at her and Kaeden exchanging glares.

"What is that guys deal?" Eliott scarfs down a handful of popcorn. "You can't just freeze people like that."

"Are you actually concerned?" Eve looks back at us.

"Give it a second."

"Especially hotties like Annie and Hailey!"

"You are truly disgusting." Eve and I both shake our heads. "Why are you friends with him?"

"You're throwing that friend term there kind of loosely."

"Aw he's just playing, aren't ya bud?" Eliott wraps his arm around my shoulders. "I'm his best friend."
I roll my eyes, knock his arm off me, and focus on the stage.

"You okay (y/n)?" Jesse asked.

"I'm fine, just worried is all. I had hoped Kaeden would've gotten bored and stayed out of the fight, but I didn't expect Annie to that kind of a power up."

"I don't get why you're so worried, this is gonna be an good match up." Jesse is practical jumping with excitement.

"With that power up, as long as Annie can stay close to Kaeden she has a chance at winning." Dalton gave me a reassuring head nod.

"Don't just stand there snow boy, show me why your ranked higher than me."

Kaeden tapped his foot on the stage floor, and a path of Ice spread from him to Annie in a fraction of a second, catching her off gaurd. Annie tried to move, but Ice quickly began to from on her foot, freezing it to the floor.

"Alright didn't expect that." The Ice quickly begins to travel up leg, reaching far above her knee, before she could even finish her sentence. Annie tries to break the ice, by punching it, but she doesn't even scratch it. Instead the ice spreads to her hand, and begins to crawl up her arm. "So this is why your rank is so high, I won't lie, I'm a little impressed."

Kaeden roles his eye. "Even the Lion power of the Davenport family, wasn't a challenge." Kaeden scoffs as he stamps his foot again, causing the ice to full encase Annie. "Pathetic." Kaeden turns his attention away from Annie, and looks towards the sky box overlooking the arena. "Is this really the best the Davenport family has?"

"Who is he saying that to?" Elliott questioned.

"Some of the teachers, and the big five are up there." Dalton leans back. "Specifically Jaylen Davenport, the number one student in the academy, and Annie's older brother."

Kaeden glares up at the sky box, seemingly waiting for something. "I thought I could be subtle about it, but I guess I was wrong." Ice erupts around the stage. "Jaylen come down here, and give me a real challenge." He kept looking up at the box, awaiting an answer that never came. "Fine, I'll just force your hand than."

He holds his right hand up in the air, high above his head, and the temperature in the arena dropped. It became so cold most of the students, myself included began to shiver. Kaeden what in the hell are you doing. My teeth begin to chatter, and I breath into my hand to try and warm them up. As I watched my breathe float through the air, it dawned on me what Kaeden was about to do.

"Kaeden!" My voice was echoed by another from across the arena.

"Stop now!" Across the arena, I watched as a familiar purple haired girl rushed to the railing. "Is hurting everyone here worth one fight?"

"I'm sick of all you pathetic losers getting in my way." A blue mist like cloud begins to swirl around his hand.

"Kaeden stop please." Maisie cries out. "You'll hurt everyone if not kill them." Kaeden ignores her. "(Y/n)!" She yells out  as I jump over the railing.

"Absolute Zero!"

Kaeden tries to slam his hand down, but I catch it, and the temperature of the room quickly returns to normal. "Enough Kaeden, This isn't worth one fight."

"Get off of me (l/n)." He pulls his arm away from me. "Touch me again, and I'll kill you." Kaeden snaps his fingers, and the ice around Hailey, Annie, and Curtis melts. Kaeden places his hands in his pockets, and walks off of the stage, pushing Curtis out of the ring in the process, and walks back through the entrance tunnel.

"Well that was certainly a strange turn of events." Charlottes voice once again echoed over the sound system. "Since the fight was never officially over, before Kaeden pushed his partner out of the ring and he left, that means by way of ring out, your winners! Annie Davenport and Hailey Reed!" The crowd was completely silent, as I helped Hailey to her feet. A few murmurs could be heard coming form small sections of the crowd.

"Did we win?" Hailey looks at me confused, as I put her arm over my shoulder. I nod.

"Good job ypu guys!" I hear Jesse cheer from the stands, and soon the rest of the crowd erupts in a sea of cheers. Annie solemnly waved to the cheering crowd as she made her way back to the tunnel.

"(Y/n), I can't really feel my legs." Hailey looks away from me. "I hate to ask this, but can you..."

"I'll help you." I answer her question before she can ask it, to try and save her pride. I help Hailey to the locker room entrance

"Thank you (y/n)." The nurse helped Hailey into the locker room, and I made my way to the exit door, and as I open the door, I see a guy roughly the same height as me with short, slicked backed, light blue, almost white, hair.  "Thank you for saving my sister, I know where that attack was going to be focused." He pushed himself off the wall, and walked over to me, and shook my hand. "You're the kid with no powers right, (y/n) (l/n)?"

"Yeah that's me."

He laughs to himself. "Keep impressing kid." He waves as he walks down the hallway.
