If you told Arthit Rojnapat on his first day as head hazer that seven years later the boy who drove him nearly mad with frustration, insane with jealousy, and out of his head with affection would one day be the love of his life he would have demanded you freeze and give him squat jumps until your legs fell off. Now, as he stood outside the main office of Kuhn Kerkkai Suthiluck (his father-in-law for all intents and purposes) the acting CEO of Siam Polymer and the man who would now groom him to step into the position one day, Arthit would have told his head hazer self that he didn't know what hit him the day Kongpob Suthiluck declared that he would make P'Arthit his wife.
Looking around the room at the lovely rosewood paneling, the impeccable lighting that gave the sitting room a luxurious glow and oddly calmed him down, Arthit was jerked out of his admiration by the entrance of P'Prim his father-in-law's personal assistant. She was a middle aged woman with kind eyes and a no nonsense attitude that Arthit had always admired.
"Nong Arthit," P'Prim greeted him in her kind and firm way before offering him a beverage and directing him toward Kuhn Kerkkai's office, "I am so happy to have you here at Siam Polymer assisting Kuhn Suthiluck's business. It is so wonderful to hear that Nong Kongpob is finally settling down. His father has often worried that N'Kong would never find someone."
Arthit smiled in a friendly way, "I never thought I would be here, but if this will satisfy our families, I will do anything for Kongpob. I just hope that I can be a good student to Kuhn Kerkkai and make him proud of the investment he is making in our future."
P'Prim tittered with a mixture of excitement and laughter. She had always thought well of the young man from Ocean Electric since the first time he had shown up requesting assistance from her boss. Now, years later, he would be trained to take the position of CEO. Quite frankly, it astounded her. Not wanting to keep him waiting, she directed him through the double doors to the inner recesses of Kuhn Kerkkai's office and seated him across the desk with a cup of coffee, that Arthit didn't have the heart to decline and a plate of Chinese donuts.
"Kuhn Suthiluck should be here momentarily, he is taking a call right now."
Arthit nodded and dug into the donuts leaving the cup of coffee resting in its saucer on the edge of the expansive mahogany desk that shone a marvelous ruddy brown from the light streaming through the wide bay windows.
Twenty miles away Kongpob Suthiluck sat down at his desk after returning from a brief meeting with P'Earth and P'Todd in the Procurement Department and picked up his phone.
[Aioun, It's not the same without you here to fuss at me for pestering you at the copier. I miss you.]
Arthit picked up his phone at the text message and smiled softly before replying, [I miss you too. I don't know how to tell P'Prim that I don't like coffee. But, the Chinese donuts are really good.]
[P'Prim always picks up the donuts from the little bakery down the street on her way into the office. They are my favorites.]
Arthit picks up his phone and takes a selfie with half a donut stuffed in his mouth and sends it back.
[They just hired a new person in the procurement department at work, and apparently she knows my sister P'Beam.]
[Really!!!! I'm surprised no one mentioned that to you the other day.]
[Maybe my parents didn't know.]
[She seems nice, P'Earth and P'Todd didn't saying anything negative about her. I guess I should invite her to lunch if I don't want P'Beam to fuss at me next time they are home visiting.]
