Chapter 4: The First Step

How about we go to the guild, sign up for a quest?'' She asked

''Alright.'' I replied

*At the guild*

''Welcome to the Adventurers Guild, My name is Lydia, how may I help you today?'' She asked

''We would like to enroll as an adventurer here.'' I said

''Certainly, just touch the crystal ball over there and-

''He's the hero from another world.'' Makoto intervened

''Oh,ok I'll just start you guys off from the lowest rank then.'' She said

(Damn, I guess being the hero does provide some bypass to some things)

''Well here you are, two bronze medals, these act as a identification, to show that you're an adventurer, but after a certain point, you will rank up or stay the same, this all depends on what achievements you aquire on you're adventurer quests , as of now, you can only do bronze level quest, every quest will tell you what level you have to be to take it on.'' She stated

''Alright, thank you.'' I said

''No problem, make sure to do lots of quests, you'll need to get as powerful as you can to defeat the demon lord after all.'' She said

''Don't worry, I'll make sure to become the strongest.'' I said

''And I don't doubt it, anyways, the quests are at the board, on you're right, so make sure to pick the one that is bronze-level and bring it up here.'' She said

''Yeah sure, anyways Makoto we should go and-

(Huh?)

''Where did she-

''I found a quest!'' Makoto shouted

(woah! That scared the life out of me)

*Hands quest paper to receptionist*

''Ah, this good one for beginners, slay 10 goblins, recently lots of goblins have been terrorising a small village in the north, you're job is to slay at least 10 of them the reward is 30 copper coins, think you're up for it?'' Lydia asked

(Goblins huh? This should be easy right?)

''Of course!'' I shouted

''Alright then,we also need you to collect a body part from each goblin, as proof that you actually have done it.'' She said

(Body parts!? Whatever)

''Once you're done, come back and show me the proof, and then we will make sure to get you're money.'' Lydia said

''Alright! Let's go Makoto.'' I said

''Yes sir!'' She shouted

*Leaves the guild*

(Hmm... there is something about that hero, I can't wrap my finger around it, but one things for sure, he might end up dying if he isn't careful, because if he's unlucky, maybe he'll run into a..)

(Actually, nevermind, he has priest with him, he should be find, right?)

*Outside of the guild*

(Hmm.. transportation is our biggest problem, we don't have money for a ride, so what do we...)

''Right, should we get going?'' Makoto asked

''We should, but....

''Transportation right?'' She said

(Did she read my mind!?)

''Don't worry, I know a teleportation spell, I can search a village up north,  pinpoint a location, and we'll be teleported near it.''
