I trembled and curled up as much as I could, whimpering softly.

He's going to sell me... what if the buyers worse than he is? What if he doesn't care about supernatural allies? I don't want to die...

Of course, my questions went unanswered and I sat there, wallowing in self pity as the day flew by.

Around 5:30 that night Alex came in and dragged me out of my closet, ignoring my soft whimpering, and ordered Terrance to follow us.

As we walked through the woods Terrance looked tense, alert. He's always been one to try and show off. I was just focused on getting where i needed to be without collapsing from the pain in my ribs.

"Don't say a word, either of you. The buyer should be here soon." Neither of us acknowledged Alex's order, but we didn't really have time to. In the blink of an eye a large man with black hair and glowing golden eyes jumped out of a tree and tackled Alex to the ground, effectively knocking him unconscious.

His eyes flickered to a familiar sea green and I gasped softly, ignoring the flash of pain.

"... keep the change." The man turned to us, studying my obvious broken wrist.
"That was AWESOME!!!" A painfully familiar voice practically shout, just before Asher and Mav trotting into the clearing with us. "Cress? Whatchu doin here?"

Oh no ohnoohnoohno...

"You guys know eachother?" The man asked, which I remembered seeing him in the family photos in Ashers room.

Mav nodded quietly, watching us. Asher just stayed quiet with a soft frown on his face.

After a moment of us staring at eachother Terrance snatched my broken wrist, making me flinch, and started dragging me away. We only made it a few steps before a dark feeling passed over the clearing, causing Terrance and i to shudder and stop.

"... where do you think you're going?" Ashers dad asked, unfazed by Terrance's glare.

OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH THATS HAWKE NIGHTSONG!!!! THATS WHY HIS EYES WERE GLOWING GOLDEN!!!! ....... HAWKE NIGHTSONG IS ASHERS DAD........

The stories I've heard about the alpha of the Nightsong pack weren't always the greatest, mostly they were how heartless and cruel he was, how he never cared about anyone or anything. I guess the stories could be wrong, Alex is only a hunter and wouldn't understand the life of an alpha. Hawke was clearly pissed, waiting for my twins reply.

"Away."

Wow, he sure knows how to anger an alpha doesn't he?

"... can this please not get violent...? I don't think I can handle that..." Asher cut in, breaking my train of thought. I looked towards Hawke to study his reaction, but honestly? He looked downright amused. As if he was thinking: my sons so cute or something.

"Let's get you looked at." Was his response, gently taking my good arm and pulling me -and by extension my bewildered twin- to who knows where.

The packgrounds. Hawke led us to the Nightsong packgrounds. As soon as we stepped into the clearing Terrance did something he hasn't in seven years, he stood in front of me protectively.

I stared at him in shock while Akari -Ashers aunt- trotted over and pulled us both into a hug.

"Yay! My little beans are back! Welcome home guys!!!" She exclaimed excitedly, totally unbeknownst to the fact that technically Hawke bought my brother and I.
She paused as she notices my wrist, frowning. "You got a lot of broken things girl, ima fix you up." Snatching my good wrist, she dragged Terrance and i towards what looked -and smelled- like a Med den.

"What's going on Hawke...?" A young woman asked, I recognized her as Ashers mom a moment later before Hawke shrugged and answered simply, "we have some new pups."
"... I'll get them some food." Asher mumbled, as if he just wasn't sure what to say or do anymore before walking away.

Akari set to work on cleaning me up as soon as I sat on the cot, careful not to poke to hard.

I wonder what's going to happen now... Hawke technically bought us so it's hard to believe he'll just let us go...

Asher walked in with two plates of steak, mashed potatoes and a slice of the celebratory cake I'd seen earlier.

"... I'll make sure Hawke gets in touch with y'all's parents, they'll probably be here by the time you wake up tomorrow." She snickered, as if parents worrying over their children was funny.
"Wait- you know our parents? How do you know our parents?" Terrance asked, stopping Akari's rambling.

She paused, as if she wasn't sure she should've said anything before nodding slowly.
"Of course I know your parents dimwit, how could I forget your cute little face," she paused, not noticing Terry's disturbed facial expression. "I held both of you while you guys were just tiny itty bitty beans, I am your aunt after all."

I'm pretty sure if shock had a smell, the entire med den would reek of it. I mean, I thought she looked kind of familiar, but I never suspected she be my favorite aunt who always helped me prank my dad and uncle.

"Wait, they're Isla and Jael's pups they lost like seven years ago? Don't they think they're like... gone gone?" Asher asked, trying to put it nicely.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a nice or gentle way to ask if someone's supposed to be dead......

Akari nodded all the same.

"They're going to be so excited that Hawke found them!"
"Wait, if you knew it was me why didn't you say anything when I went over to do projects with Asher?" I asked quietly, but still curiously.
"Because potato chip, I wasn't sure if you even knew what you were, I couldn't out and say, 'hey, I'm your aunt that you might not remember. Oh and your a wolfblood and your parents are totally missing you and I can't wait until they find out your still alive'."

My nose scrunched up and I frowned. "Yeah, I guess you're right." Akari scoffed.
"You guess? I am right child." She argued. I rolled my eyes.

Just like old times...

In that moment, I was happier than I've been in forever. I felt safe with my friends and family, well I did until Akari changed the subject.

"Now that you're back, you and Asher can find out your mates and give me some grandnieces or nephews."
