Three days later

I've been with Fuego for about four days now, I've become pretty fluent in ASL -Fuego's surprised, but I've always been a quick learner-, my training has increased to the point where I'm running one hundred laps within an hour and I'm hunting six deer within half an hour.
She brought me back to basic combat to make sure my skills are at their best. For what, I'm still not sure. I've gotten stronger and faster in a very short amount of time, I have more energy for longer and -although my brain feels ready to explode from the lessons- I can almost sign as fast as she can.

"It's finally time." Fuego signed at lunch on the fourth day.
"For?" I questioned, shoving a piece of steak into my mouth.
"For you to go home." I coughed.
"You've been gone for too long. I'll still be here should you need guidance, or training. But you should get back."
"How will I find this place again?"
She smiled.

"Simple. Follow the gold flower petals hidden amongst the trees."
I quirked an eyebrow.
"And if I discover my alpha ability? Will I need to stay with you again?"
"Probably not, just stop by and I'll help you. But first I need to show you something so you have a better understanding of why you need training."

She stepped closer and placed two of her fingers against my temple before closing her eyes. I felt my eyes roll back and suddenly I stood in the middle of a clearing, a burnt clearing. Fire raged around me while screams pierced my ears. I coughed from the smoke and turned in a slow circle to examine my surroundings better, which I later found as a mistake. Bodies flailed inside the flames as the burned alive, men, women, children all burning. One man stood near me, laughing maniacally at the chaos. When I stepped in front of him to see his face I scrambled back, shocked to see his face just.... Black. Where his nose, eyes, mouth and any other identifiable features should be was just blackness. A pure darkness to keep his identity a secret.

I was shook out of the nightmare I was having and opened my eyes to see a worried Fuego.
"What the heck was that!?" I shrieked, trying to get my breathing under control.
"What'll happen if you're not prepared..." she signed solemnly.
"What are you?"
"Most people would call me a seer, because I can see into the future. But I have many talents that are yet to be revealed."

I sighed heavily at her cryptic answer and continued clearing my plate, trying to shove the horrible images from my mind.
We finished our food quickly before she packed me a small bag with a blanket and some food, 'just in case'.

"Thanks so much Fuego, I'll visit as soon as I can."
She smiled and gave me a quick hug before shooing me away and waving goodbye.

*Ashers POV*
I'm not entirely sure how long it's been since I got to the hangout, I know Mav stopped by a couple times with food, but I haven't touched it, I didn't really see the point.

"It's not healthy to starve yourself Asher..." Mav said softly as she sat beside me.
"What if she comes back and finds you like this?"
"Face it Mav, the chances of her getting out of wherever she is are slim, if she's even alive right now." I kept my face void of emotion, yet I felt that Mav knew exactly how I was feeling. I sighed heavily and rested my head against the tree behind me.

"It drives me insane. I see her every time I close my eyes. She promises she'll see me soon and then gets carried away by some stupid cloaked figure."
"I'm sure she's fine Ash, wouldn't you feel it if she wasn't?"
"Before we found the house almost everything hurt, but now it feels like I'm unstoppable, no wounds slowing my hand. It doesn't make sense."
"Then she's probably somewhere safe, healing up before she finds her way home."

I shook my head but didn't bother responding, Mav would keep arguing until whoever she was arguing with agreed with her.
She sighed and left me alone for now to wallow in self pity. I closed my eyes and hesitantly let myself fall into dreams.

I opened my eyes to find myself in the middle of a flower field, surrounded by Cress' scent, when a girl about my age with fiery red hair and green eyes approached me.
"Who are you?"
Her hands moved and a young girls voice echoed around me.
"Someone who cares young alpha. All will be well in time, don't lose hope. For tonight I show you what you've been longing to see."
Her hands became fists before she kneeled and hit the ground, making the whole scene shake and change into that of a cave where my beautiful mate sat against a wall, staring outside.
The girls... voice?... echoed inside the cave, yet Cress didn't seem to hear.

"I cannot promise anything, only show you that she's ok. Keep in mind that sometimes, a bird must let her young fall before they can fly..."

I jumped awake and looked around, disappointed to see myself in the hangout and not the cave I saw.
Stupid brain, playing dumb tricks on me...
I sighed and decided sleep was overrated, getting up to stretch my legs.
I wondered what the dream was truly about, I'd never met the red haired girl who did weird hand motions and made a seemingly random voice echo around different places. Plus, there's no way she showed me the real Cress, she couldn't. It's not physically possible.

I growled in frustrations as my thinking led to more questions.
I had to deal with the fact that Cress probably wasn't coming back anytime soon. I'll give it a couple more days before I go back to mom and dad. I can't stay in the state my mate got taken and probably killed.
I huffed angrily and sat down in the grass, blocking my dream from my mind.
