Starmber padded along the rocky mountains. He had been doing this until he caught scent of a bird.
His nose twitched, and he looked up to see an eagle flying around. Nightmare had warned him not to go near them, especially since he was only six moons old at the moment. And now one was above him.
Starmber tried to ignore his gnawing fear at being eaten.
Great stars help me! I'm gonna die like this aren't I?!
He froze in fear at a squawk from the eagle. Suddenly he was picked up by his scruff."Starmber! Don't just freeze to die! You need to live!"
Nightmare put him down under their rock home and sighed.
"Maybe we are meant for the wild. But we don't know the way back to the Wilds."
She sighed again.
"Don't worry, Starmber. I'll still train you."He purred agreement.
"But it's hard."
He complained. Nightmare sighed and nodded.
"But Camoths like us need that challenge."
"Then why am I so different?"
Nightmare flinched.
"Who's my father?"
He pressed.Nightmare paused.
"I'll tell you when you're older, 'kay."
"You always say that, 'mare!"
"I know, but I will. Don't press me anymore."
"Bu-"
"Starmber."
That was his cue to stop.Whenever he pressed Nightmare to say more, she always did that whenever he annoyed her a lot.
A lot a lot.
Starmber padded alongside Nightmare into a cave.
"It's time to rest now, both of us."
Her voice was soothing, and Starmber sighed and layed down.
His nest was soft, and he purred himself right to sleep before too long.
