Chapter Sixteen

I felt a million eyes on me as my eyes slowly opened. One was familiar but the others was just unfamiliar faces. I turned my head slowly feeling a sharp pain in my right temple. I barred the pain clencing my teeth together. This pain was unbearable, I could barely even move my head back to the ceiling of what seemed to be a hospital. All keep going in my mind was what was going on? am i alright?  Many thoughts processed in my head.

I soon felt a hand being pressed against the same place my head with pain. I tried not scream with pain as my forehead was hurting with excruciating pain. My voice rang out across the room as the doctor slowly pulled his hand away. Tears were forming in my quickly I couldn't take the pain that was being brought onto me. I felt another hand being brought onto my hand quickly grasping mine. The same familiar voice that I was mad with spoke softly. 

"It's going to be okay.. don't worry I'm here for you.. always," Travis slowly spoke as he entwined his fingers with mine. I felt a prick of pain being brought back again to my head. I bit my lip trying to not scream out again. I forced the scream to be kept inside of me. He noticed the pain and slowly rubbed his thumb against the skin of my hand. I was scared of what was going to happen next. More pain to come? I felt his hand release mine as the doctor stood beside me kneeling down right beside the bed.

"Ma'am I would like you to know everything going fine as of now. Except the pain is very severe because of whenever the crash had happened it left a few broken bones. One of the bones that was to got broke was your left arm and and a few ribs. You have also had a severe concussion in the brain."

This also hit me like a slap in thee face. If only I haven't been careless to believe everything that they had said about him cheating on me. When he had not done such a thing like that. I wouldn't be in this mess if I had not been such a careless driver.

I felt a soft hand fall on my shoulder that woke me up suddenly. I looked out in the dark looking for had touched me so gently. I looked to my right to see Travis there. He was still here? He looked down at me smiling as he grabbed my hand pulling it slowly onto his lap. I could see his eyes were red, was he crying?

"Hey it's going to be okay..." I said gently trying to calm him down. He let his head hang low not wanting me to see him crying.

"If only I would have never gotten cancer and I would at be at school and none of this would have gotten started," He wiped his face quickly of the tears flowwing out.

"She would have done it anyway," I stated trying to make him calm down. He was blamming himself when it was me that got myself in this mess. 

"But I could have stopped her," He said under his breath.

"People are going to start rumors that aren't true, just don't pay any attention to them," I said taking my one hand that was once in his cupping his face.

"It wasn't a rumor... I never told her it was over.. exactly.." That's when my heart stopped. He had been cheating on me this whole time.

How could I ever trust him again after this.
