I Fell In Love With My Best Friend

Chapter Nineteen

*4 months later*

I walk through the park, my fingers intertwined with his. The wind around us was blowing wildly, the cold air nipping at my toes. I move my body close to his as we walk. The basket in my other hand. We soon stopped at the top of the hill. He spread out the blanket as I fixed the food. I sat down as everything was soon fixed. We were just having our usual picnic. We were catching up on everything that had happened in the past week. But Travis's voice was cut off by someone screaming. I whipped my head around to see a boy a little younger than us screaming. I couldn't tell what he was saying. I stood and Travis mimicked me. 

"Should we?" I ask and the boy was still yelling in the background louder. That's when I took off and when I got closer I noticed nothing was wrong. Nothing I could see. I turned around and couldn't find Travis anywhere. The boy that was yelling only a few seconds ago had stopped. where is he. I screamed in my head. My eyes searching everywhere that's when I saw a shadow flicker in my vision. I ran chasing after the figure but then as I tried to find the figure that had disappeared into no where. I stood there dazed. 

"Travis!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. That's when I heard a scream and knowing me I ran towards it. Thats when I felt hands wrap around my waist. I was lifted off he ground and onto the persons shoulder. I screamed at the top of my lungs but no one was around to help. That's when the guy lifted me back off my shoulder and that's when I saw a shadow in a distance and I ran as fast i could. This time the object stayed right where it was. I ran until I could rarely run no more. As I go closer I saw a string of lights wrapped around a gazebo. The person I realized was not so far away now. That's when I noticed it was Travis. I ran into his arms as I got to him. He leaned out of the hug and held my face in his hands.

"Addison, I just don't know what I would do if you never entered my life. I know we have had our ups and downs but what I know is that I will always love you no matter what and I realized what I want to do." Wait. Is what think is about to happen is going to happen? Yes, it is. He slowly got down on one knee taking my hand. My other hand covering my mouth. I was crying now.

"Will you marry me?" I shook my head yes hugging him tightly then pressing my lips against his softly.
