Katsuki's POV
"Has he come out of his room yet?" My boyfriend asked as he came into the kitchen.
"No and he hasn't since dinner last night."
"We all need to leave for work in thirty minutes. Should I wake him?" He asked me, hugging me from behind as I wrapped up making some packed lunches.
"No, let the damn nerd sleep in, probably needs it."
I could feel Eijiro place his forehead onto my back. "Do you think I upset him yesterday?"
I shrugged. "Don't know. He seemed out of it last night. Just give him some breathing room. It's been a lot of change in a small period of time."
He pulled away from me and nodded. "Yeah, you're right."
It wasn't until about five minutes before we needed to leave that Deku finally came down the stairs dressed in his hero costume and concealer covering his face, making his freckles fade a little.
"Damn it, Deku. You didn't even leave yourself time to eat!" I yelled at him, but he just gave me one of those annoying smiles.
"Sorry Kacchan, I slept in." I could tell the damn nerd was lying. He didn't sleep at all.
"Yeah, well. Don't make a habit of it or I'll start forcing you out of bed."
"Got it," he said and went to the door to put his shoes on. Eijiro came out of the bathroom and walked over to us.
"Good morning, Midoriya! Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, thanks! I better get to work now," he said pulling the door open.
I grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back. "The fuck you think you're going?"
"Work?" He tilted his head to the side in confusion.
"Before you decide to get yourself killed on the job, here." I handed him a quick protein shake to give him at least some fuel for now and a packed lunch.
Deku's eyes widened. "K-Kacchan-"
"Take it, you damn nerd, or I'll shove all of it down your throat." I threatened.
He sighed and took the packed lunch and the protein shake. "Thanks."
"Midoriya, Kat and I are headed to the same place as you. Maybe we should walk together?" Eijiro asked, a hopeful glint in his eyes.
"That's alright. I like running to work, but I'll see you guys there." He turned Eiji down with a smile.
I hate that smile....
It's too fake.
He quickly left through the door before anything else could be said. I grunted in disapproval and I watched my boyfriend's posture slump over.
"Don't beat yourself up, Eijiro. He needs time."
"I know. I'm sorry. I'm being pushy and impatient." His face faltered and he looked at the ground.
"You don't need to apologize, damnit. Anyone can see that you're just worried and want to help. Deku just doesn't really want that right now."
"You're so much better at understanding him than I am."
I sighed and gripped his hand in mine. "I grew up with him, but don't get me wrong. There are times that he is still a complete mystery to me too."
He nodded his head. "We should go. Don't want to be late."
The two of us left for work. Today, Eijiro and I will be staying together on the south end of town. Deku is supposed to be with Icyhot, but he was already gone from the office when we arrived and out at his location for the day.
