chapter 3
the divorce

For years, Harvey's parents had argued and fought. Ever since he was little, the only memory of them together was them fighting. the day harvey had been waiting for... the divorce became legal. Paul & Sara were no longer married. But what harvey didn't know is that he had to move away with his dad and max. Harvey had always been a mummy's born so he wasn't ready to leave her, but he had no choice. He got forced to move to Manchester.
15th March, Max and Harvey started their new school and they became insanely popular, just like their first school. Girls followed harvey wherever he went, blushing over him and idolising him for every little thing he did. Harvey loved it, he loved the attention. He loved feeling wanted.
A few months passed and harvey's life changed. Paul favoured Max and always made it obvious. He never hit max, he would praise him for doing something as simple as putting a sock on, he did everything for him whereas with the other twin... he would beat him for no reason. Harvey would come home terrified, he would get starved, locked in a cupboard, hit, kicked, beaten, shouted at. this made harvey rebel. his grades dropped, he was in detention every night to prevent going home, he began smoking, drinking, vaping, drugs. he misbehaved at school & just stopped caring.
7am; the alarm rang
Harvey reached over to turn his alarm off and he groaned. he got himself together and fully woke himself up. he chucked on his creased uniform and sorted out his hair. His hair is his most prized possession. he brushed his teeth and put his coat on. He rummage through his draw and put his pack of cigarettes and lighter into his bag n chucks his bag on his back and leaves. Every single morning he heads to to the corner shop to buy an elf bar & meets up with his friends. The clock turned to 9:22 as harvey took his last puff of his cigarette and entered the shithole that is school, late as usual. he made his way to first period maths & sat in his usual spot in the back corner.
5:30am; her alarm went off
Madison woke up almost instantly thinking she didn't have enough time to get ready even though school started at 8:30am. she went to the bathroom and did her usual skin care & had a shower. she dried her hair and did a full face of makeup. she then straightened her natural blonde hair and got into her uniform. she rolled her skirt up three times so it was at the perfect length. she packed her river island handbag ready for the lessons she had today and also packed the basic needs for the day. she made a fruit salad for her breakfast then brushed her teeth and walked to school. she passed the corner shop where all the popular kids hung out and met up with her group.
"you look gorgeous maddie!" willow stated like she does every morning. madison replied with a quick "thank you" and they headed off to school. Madison had her eyes on someone but she knew he would never like her back. she locked eyes with him when he walked in late as usual but she quickly looked away with embarrassment. He just chuckled and smiled.
