i grunted as i ran to the edge of a cliff and went to throw the scroll but hesitated.

i can't do this..

"i figured this is where you'd go.." pitch's voice sounded from behind me. i huffed and turned around.

"what do you want pitch?!" i yelled, pushing my mask up.

"i just wanted to show you that they would never believe in you. he would never believe in you." pitch shrugged. i grunted as i sent ice over to pitch, though he quickly dodged it.

i cast ice and show all around him, but pitch wouldn't fall.

"i understand, y/n!" pitch exclaimed. "you don't understand anything!" i yelled, now just sending spikes of ice.

"i don't know what it's like to be cast out?!" pitch asked.

"not in this way!" i yelled, jumping up, the air taking me higher as i brought a huge ice spike out from the ice under pitch.

i grunted as i landed on the cliff, panting heavily as avalon stared at me, her eyes filled with fear.

she'd never seen me this way before.

i huffed as the snowy fog around me cleared, pitch's voice sounding. nothing processed in my head. i was too angry.

pitch was obviously trying to get me to join him. i wouldn't though. not even if my life was at steak.

"your life..?" pitch asked. i froze.

he can hear my thoughts..

"then what about jack's life?" pitch smirked evilly as the snowy fog came back, clearing a quick as it came.

i blinked quickly, seeing pitch with his hand around jack's throat.

though jack looked grayer than usual.. he didn't look like jack. he looked like.. a shadow jack.

i gasped, stumbling forward.

"jack!" i exclaimed.

"the dragon, y/n." pitch smirked. "give up your dragon." a sick grin covered pitch's face.

i gasped slightly, looking down at avalon.

avalon had perked up at her mention and looked over at me. she nodded her head at me.

"n.. no.. i can't!" i exclaimed. "then your precious jack is gone," pitch smirked. avalon grumbled at me and began stalking over to pitch.

"avalon!" i cried. avalon just shook her head continuing over to pitch.

"good dragon," pitch smirked, sending a spike of sand through her wing.

avalon roared in pain as i sobbed, falling to my knees.

pitch laughed and sent a ball of sand over to me. the sand hit me and threw me back against a wall of ice, making me fall into the ravine below it.

i grunted every time i hit a ledge, crying in pain as i hit the bottom.

i let out a breath and turned over so i could look up, seeing pitch kicking avalon into the ravine as well.

avalon groaned as she landed right in front of me, looking at me sadly.

i panted and crawled over to her, resting my hand on the side of her face.

"a-are you okay..?" i whispered. avalon mewled softly and held up her wing, showing the hole in the middle of it. a tear ran down my face as i looked at it, not knowing how to fix it.
