To Liam,

It pains me that you are the first of the people that read this. It is no secret that the years have not been kind to me — far from it if I must be honest. Strength is something that not everyone has the luxury to attain. Unfortunately, I was one of the weaker kind.

I am leaving you the throne, the reins to Enshire, take it if you wish, leave it if you must.

This kingdom, the throne, all of it, they were my true culprits, why I lost the only thing I ever wanted. You will know soon, when the steward goes to wake Jaime, only to find him in an irrevocable slumber, he will find a letter there as well, in it; everything that you need to know.

It is unfair that you have to read this, but I needed you to know that none of what happened was your fault in any sense, I never held you responsible for anything, and I hope you do not do it yourself either.

Marry Zayn, my sweetest Liam, this life is too cruel and too short for you to keep waiting for an auspicious moment.

By the minute you read this, I shall be on my way towards my doom. Do not cry when you realise that my journey never promised a return, for I will always remain in your heart, and you, mine. Do not grieve, beware that I am merely finding my peace like you had wished I would.

No amount of thanks can ever convey how grateful I was for your presence in my hapless life. I love you, my dearest friend.

~ Yours, Louis.
