Chapter Twenty-Six: Road to recovery?

Yelenas POV:

"Hey firefly? Can we pause lilo for a second, i think you need a change." I stroked Kates arms and she whined slightly. "Bu' mummy! We up to really good bit! Is Kates favorite.." This kid, i swear. "Kate." I turned her around and looked at her sternly. "kay kay.." She snuggled into my chest as i picked her up and took her to the bathroom. "Thank you for being so good bubs." Kate just nodded and played with her fingers.

"Lena? Are you in here?" Wanda's slightly shouted from my bedroom. "Just in here Wands, i'm changing Kate!" I heard a whine but realised it wasn't coming from my little, was Natasha there? I scooped Kate up, rinsed my hands and half run towards my room. "Tasha! I missed you so much!" I kissed Tasha's forehead a dozen times and she giggled slightly. "Tasha? Are you okay?" Wanda smiled and explained how she was feeling super little, almost tiny. "Oh.. well we were going to head down to the team dinner, we're you planning on coming?" I sighed as Kate shuffled in my arms and tried to point to the tv that was playing lilo and stitch.

"Mummy, i watch lilo and stitch please.." I grabbed her ipad from the end of the bed and put the movie on to keep her quiet for a while. What! I can't help but want quiet time. "Uhm.. yeah we could go i guess?" Perfect. "Uh great but Wanda, i just wanted to say thank you. For everything. Me and Kate are going to move to a house we found. It not far but it's not here. Thank you, truly." Wanda looked shocked but just nodded and adjusted her hold on Natasha. "Natasha won't take that news well..." Wanda warned, i knew that. "I know, i didn't know how to tell her maybe.." I ventured, hoping Wanda would take the hit. "You have to tell her Lena, Bruce said she would be tiny for a while so maybe you could try moving out then?" Yes! "What a good idea little witch!" I nodded and started walking out, with Wanda close behind.

Wanda's POV:

"Boys, boys.. calm down!" I walked into the dining room to see everyone laughing and joking around a buffet that sat on the table. Nobody listened, or nobody could hear me but still. I quickly made some noise canceling headphones appear and put them on Nat, holding her close. "BOYS! LISTEN!" The room went silent. Natasha was babbling happily to herself and was oblivious to the situation. "Now, the last time me and Nat came to one of these, you upset her. I want no bad comments. Nothing. Am i clear?" The boys nodded and Yelena burst out laughing. "God, your all so easy to intimidate, your funny Wanda, yes, very funny." She sat down and grabbed a sausage from one of the boys plates, surprisingly they didn't react?

I purposefully sat me and Nat at the opposite end of the table to Bucky, but that did mean we were sat with Thor and Loki- at least we had Sam and Rhodey too. "Ah! small but mighty one, you remember me? Yes Thor! Now.. this is my brother Loki. I can assure you! He looks scary. He is not! He is mighty like me and like you! But not scary." Thor began shouting but quickly lowered his voice and pointed towards Natasha's 'muscles'. "Why hello there Natasha, i must say your outfit is rather dashing." He tickled under Natasha's chin causing her to erupt into fits of giggles. "Hey! hey! Leave my princess alone, i shall save her!" Sam reached over and took Natasha from me while hugging her tightly, all while she was smiling behind her paci.

"A toast! To the little witch, her beautiful baby girl and to the rest of us! For being uncles!" Tony stood up and clinked his glass then everyone drank to his cause. The night went smoothly from then, Bucky tried to come over but luckily Rhodey just shook his head and stood in front of me and Natasha and Bucky walked away. "Thank you Rhodey, i mean it." I whispered and he just smiled nodded and walked away without saying a word. "Uh Wanda aren't you going to eat anything?" Bruce interfered with my conversation and patted my shoulder. "Yes Bruce, i am. I'm fine, i was just feeding Natasha first. Leave it." Natasha whined in my lap and pulled on my top, clearly someone had had enough of the weird cocktail sausages and finger sandwiches too.

"Okay baby girl, calm down. Mamas getting you your special drink." Once my breast was free, Natasha began suckling eagerly. "Slow down dekta, you might choke." I stroked her hair and looked around for something to cover me, but nothing came. "Here Wanda, have this." Bucky took off his jacket and passed it to me. "Uh, yeah thanks Bucky." I quickly jumped into the conversation with the others but i knew Bucky was still staring at me. "Wanda can i talk to you for a second?" Clint whispered into my ear and grabbed my hand. "Umm yeah? You want to go into the hall?" Clint nodded and i followed him out.

"So.. i'm leaving for my family tomorrow and i thought maybe with Nat being so small, that being somewhere she recognized would help.. so if you want you could come. You don't have to! But maybe it would be nice." Clint pushed the words out and seemed to be very nervous. "Yeah, yeah, that would be nice. Are you sure you wife wouldn't mind? Or your kids? Don't you have kids?" Clint laughed before responding. "Yeah laura, my wife and our three kids, Lila, Cooper and Nathaniel." Of course. Nathaniel Pietro Barton.. I quickly wiped a tear that had appeared before agreeing to going with Clint to the farm.

"So that's sorted then? Perfect." Clint walked away as i continued to nurse Nat, rocking her softly as she almost fell asleep. Maybe, just maybe, this would be the start of something new.
