around five episodes of chowder later, luke convinced phoenix to pull her eyes away from the television and do something productive, or at least something physical.
luke knew phoenix was unhappy with having to leave her couch, so he was doing everything he could to get phoenix to crack a grin.
"i'll buy you a jumbo corndog?" he said excitedly. "or i'll buy wii dance games and we can play them at michael's?"
phoenix skeptically looked over at luke. "what kind of dance games?"
"just dance?" luke suggested and shrugged.
phoenix did enjoy kicking a person's ass when it came to just dance, but she didn't want to give in right away. "will it be just dance four?"
"it can be whatever you want." he said in excitement, because he knew phoenix was giving in.
"alright," she clicked her tongue. "but if i win, you owe me a jumbo corndog."
"deal."
luke stood before phoenix, drowning in her eyes that reminded him of a warm cup of coffee, until phoenix repeatedly snapped her fingers in the air.
"what are you doing? go out and buy the game." she said as if it were almost too obvious.
"oh," he shook his head in attempt to knock some sense back into him. "do i have to go alone?"
"oh, no way." phoenix stood and slowly walked over to luke. she put both hands on each side of his face and said, "i wouldn't ever want you to go alone."
she kissed the corner of his mouth and luke grinned. "so, you'll go with me?"
"of course i won't, michael can go with you." and phoenix dropped her hands and turned around, skipping back over to the couch.
luke hung his head, rubbing his jaw and smirking. "you're a pain, arizona."
"you're the one sticking around and tolerating it."
he smoothed the wrinkles on his shirt and opened up the front door. "i'm willing to overlook the sarcasm though, because you're a fucking beautiful, wonderful work of art."
before phoenix could respond, he was out the door. she should've appreciated the compliment, but instead she blushed and rolled her eyes. "cheeseball,"
from the inside of her own apartment, she could hear both michael and luke's muffled australian accents. she always thought it was so cool to hear them talk, for she adored the way they spoke.
the familiar footsteps down the stairs caused phoenix to shoot up and sprint to the window, knocking against the glass loudly to get luke's attention before he left.
thankfully, he whipped around and directed his eyes toward phoenix as she pressed her nose on the window and crossed her eyes.
luke returned her act of foolishness with a wide, toothy smile, and phoenix pouted. not only did she love his smile so much that she hated it, but she didn't want him to leave. although she doesn't really show it, she hated when luke left.
she motioned him over to the window, and luke turned to michael and held a finger up before jogging over to phoenix.
she put her hand against the glass barrier and luke did the same, smashing his own face against it. phoenix glanced over at an impatient looking michael, who was biting on his nails and kicking at the ground.
"you better go," phoenix said, nodding her head over to luke's best friend. "i feel bad."
"fine," luke groaned, losing contact with the window and stepping backwards. "see you in a bit."
