Jareth had heard that the Scamander brothers were back in England and all he had to do was get to them before Grindelwald could yes Grindelwald was his boss and he wasn't going against his partner he just wanted to trap the brothers in his Labyrinth with the help of his goblins of course.
And it wasn't long before the Scamander brothers and Rory walked right into a trap set by Jareth and so the brothers and Rory were forced to play The Goblin King's Game.
