I finished this one in 2022 and it got lost at the bottom of my drafts. Sorry to the Normani lovers out there 😭 But maybe it was for the best because now it's written way better. Hopefully, all of my lovely images of 2021 Normani survive 🤩

Normani's POV October 22, 2021
"This is really so cute, I think this was a great idea with amazing execution," said Ryan as she surveyed the cheerful crowd in all different shades of tan and brown that were milling about the room.
We were currently at Lori Harvey's SKN launch. The theme was melanin and I was glad to see that everyone was adhering to it, although there were a couple of times I had to do a double take because someone would walk by and I'd think they were naked.
"It is. I'm really glad you could both come," Justine said. "I can't imagine walking around this thing without friends."
I was standing in line with Justine and Ryan as we waited for our pictures from the photo wall to be converted into photo strips and printed so that we could take them home.
"Here you go ladies," one of the photographers said as he handed each of us a copy of the photos that we took.

"Are you kidding? These eat!" Justine gushed as she looked them over with a grin.
"Speaking of eating..." Ryan trailed off as she nodded her head in the direction of the dessert tables that she'd been talking about nonstop since we got here and I got here late so I can only imagine what Justine was subjected to before my arrival.
"Let's go so she can shut the hell up about this desserts section," Justine joked as she tucked her copy of the photos into her purse.
We crossed the room to the dessert display, which unsurprisingly matched the melanin theme as well. Everything being offered was some shade of tan or brown.
