They had never known the lands beyond their village, they knew of some but never seen them. Never experienced the beauty themselves, they were too young. But it never stopped their imagination from roaming the world. In their minds they met kings and queens, explored unknown lands, and slayed enemies. No matter where their minds wandered one thing never changed, they were always together. It was a fact of the village, wherever Niklaus went so did Althea. As if they were tethered together.

—————

The days she spent in books taught her enough about history to know exactly where she was. Or rather when she was.

" Let go of me." A blonde girl screams at the man forcing himself on her and the four men watching.

Hope hero tendencies takes flight as she runs, not even acknowledging the fact that she was somehow in an old dress.

She can smell the rotten blood before she sees them. Young vampires, five of them. She could most likely take them all out with out muttering a spell.

" Let her go."

" Have fun with her, I've found my own meal." He says passing the girl off to one of his friends. He flashes his eyes, to scare her but it only fuels her anger. The young ones were always the cocky ones.

" I hope you enjoyed your meal, it was your last." She says before charging at them, she was so focused on training her every punch she barely realized another person was fighting with her against the vampires.

" Not bad love, at least for a child." He says her back is still facing him,as she blinks away her tears, hearing a familiar voice but ignores it. She'll figure out what's going on after she helps the girl and if she turns to look at him right now she won't  be able to keep it together.

" Hey sweetie, is it okay if I come closer?" After a second of hesitation, the girl nods frantically trying to cover herself with her dress that was ripped to shreds. "What's your name, sweet heart?"

"A-au-audrina."

" That's a pretty name. Audrina, you have a cut, and for me to heal it I have to touch you, is that okay."

" You won't hurt me?"

"No, us girls have to stick together." She declares, after a moment Audrina nods, allowing Hope to gently place her hand on her shoulder. Softly she mumbled a healing incantation.

" You're a witch." The blondes exclaimed baffled, she didn't see a single spell uttered.

" And you are an untriggered werewolf." Hope said in a unbothered tone.

" It's not possible for a witch to take down four vampires, without muttering a spell."

" Come on, let's get you home." She says ignoring her statement.

" My carriage will take her." His voice startled the two girls, one had forgotten he was there and the other one was trying to pretend he'd disappear.

" Then I should be on my way." She felt hesitant in leaving the girl but she had to get away from the past version of her father. Silently she hoped enough of her father was in the man not to hurt the girl.

" Oh, I think we are in for a chat." He says not wanting to threaten anyone in front of the terrified girl already afraid of men. Hope with the same intents nods in a hesitant
agreement.

......................................

" What are you?" They were both standing outside the carriage with the young girl. Talking in hushed voices so she wouldn't startle.

" A woman?"

" I'll only intend to ask one more time, what are you?"

Contemplating her options she realizes that the man before her isn't her father. He's much much worse, as her dad he was doing bad things with direction, a purpose. Saving his daughter.  But if she's right in the when she thinks she is, he probably would kill her without a reason to keep her. She needed to spark his interest." A hybrid of sorts, Were-witch, call me what you want, it doesn't matter."

"A hybrid? Like-" How could she be both. He too was born into a witch and wolf bloodlines and yet he never could tap into magic.

" Like you, klaus."

"That's impossible." Before he could even finish speaking, her eyes glowed and a small flame appeared on her hand.

" I am both."

" What clan?"

" What?" Out of all the things she thought he'd ask, that was the last. Werewolf origin was rarely talked about outside of pack royalty. Specific identification was normally unnecessary..

" What clan?"

" Labonair and East of the new province."  Hoping and praying she got the name right based on when she assumed she was. This whole thing was a guessing game. How'd she get here? What would her father do to her? How's time travel even work? Is this time travel or a hallucination?

" That is not possible."

" And why not?

" that pack was slaughtered centuries ago."

" I do not know what to tell you. My mothers a labonair and my father was a descent of the East and son of a witch."

" Turn around."

" Can't just take my word for it?"

" Turn around." Once again he left no question in his voice.

Doing as he said with a slightly childish pout, she faced away from him. A moment later she felt his hands pull the back just enough to see the labonair brand then moved to the other side only to find a full moon birth mark.

" That's not possible."

" I don't know what to tell you."
