I wake up from a restful sleep. I stretch my arms and rub the sleep from my eyes. It felt like everything that happened last night was a dream. I reach for Alex but rolling over he isn’t there. No trace of his familiar scent or touch. Panic sets in as I jump out of bed and rush down the stairs so fast I end up tripping half way down. With a big thud I’m on my ass.

Chris runs over and just starts laughing when he sees me. “Did you really just fall down the stairs? I knew you were clumsy but not like that.”

In pain I tell him, “Can you just shut up?  I think I literally just broke myself. Hardwood stairs aren’t meant to feel nice when you fall on them.”

He nods and says, “Why are you running down the stairs so fast anyway?”

I look down remembering why I was rushing down stairs. I get up from the stairs pushing Chris out of my way. I creep into the kitchen seeing Zack and Julia drinking coffee at the table.

“Hey sunshine, how are you doing? Was that you who just made that horrible sound?” Zack asks.

“Yeah it was but I’m alright. It’s whatever I guess. Where’s Alex at?” I respond back trying to hide the worry in my voice.

“He left with Jack to go back up the bus for the New York show tonight. I’m sure he’ll be back soon,” Zack tells me.

“Oh yeah right tour. I guess you still have that going,” I whisper the last part under my breath trying to hide my jealously of the tour that will take away Alex and the guys.

After a few minutes Jack and Alex come back waltzing through the door. Alex walks up kissing me quickly and says, “Hey babe I didn’t want to wake you. You looked so peaceful I couldn’t bring myself to wake you up but we had to go pack up the bus. We have to hit the road in about an hour, two at the most.”

My face drops but paint back on a smile and respond, “Oh yeah um…that’s fine. I get it you guys have to go again soon.” The last part comes out extremely bitter.

Alex takes my hand and pulls me into the backyard. “Listen I want to talk to you. So we just started tour I mean Philly was only the second stop since we started in Sayreville. And I guess that means we have a long time to be apart. I feel like I just got you back. Since you can sing and we aren’t touring with any girl singers come with us. Sing Juliet’s part of Remembering Sunday. I know it’s a lot to ask but please I don’t want to be apart for right now. I know you don’t want to spend two months on a bus with smelling guys but we have a bunk for you and everything.”

I cut him of there and just shout, “Yes!” He looks at me surprised and hugs me tight and placing a kiss on my cheek.

“Go pack! C’mon I’ll help you. I can’t believe you’re coming with us,” he says enthusiastically. We rush upstairs not even bothering to tell everyone else the plan. I throw whatever clothes I can find into a bag. I pack up my make-up and other beauty supplies and we go down to tell everyone the plan.  The guys support me even though I’ll be missing Thanksgiving because of the way tour falls. I say my good byes to my three friends and the guys and me hit the road and board the bus.
