"Here they are! Chanterelle mushrooms!" (Y/n) smiled, sifting through the patch of moss and picking out the best mushrooms.

(Y/n) and Anna were currently in the forest looking for mushrooms.

The book (Y/n) was reading a few days ago mentioned how there were a handful of mushrooms that are edible and can be used for seasoning.

So, she decided that her and Anna should go out to find some of the mushrooms that the book said grew nearby.

Anna kneeled down, basket in hand. She looked down at the ingredients they had collected so far.

The basket was filled with raspberries, a few apples, sea buckthorn, elderberries, blueberries, and some morel mushrooms. Anna recognized some of the ingredients but not all of them.

Since she's so used to meat, she never found it necessary to eat anything else. The meat was fulfilling, and it tasted good--in her qualifications.

(Y/n) smacked her hands together to get rid of the chill that stuck to them than continued walking, Anna staying close behind.

"Okay, lets look out for some Porcini mushrooms next!" (Y/n) smiled, waiting for a reply from Anna.

Anna only nodded and smiled back. She understood enough to get the main idea of what (Y/n) wanted.

(Y/n) made her way through the snow--with the help of Anna at some points--and pointed out all the things she saw.

It didn't matter whether it was a group of flowers or a fox skipping by, she pointed and smiled at each and every thing.

Anna placed a hand over the place her chest and watched as (Y/n) picked the mushrooms with a big grin on her face.

This was a strange feeling.

It felt similar to when she'd kill the survivors. The happiness she'd feel when she threw a hatchet into the back of a human or shove her ax through the head of the survivor under her feet.

But this was different than those times.

She placed a hand over her stomach as it tossed and turned. She didn't understand. She had a feeling that this emotion was close to happiness and excitement, but even that didn't feel right.

"Anna?" (Y/n) mumbled, blinking from her spot in front of the taller woman.

Anna looked down; mouth still open in awe.

She slowly kneeled down and watched as (Y/n) tilted her head in confusion, mushrooms in hand.

Anna stuck her arms out and felt a thump in her chest as (Y/n) didn't hesitate to walk into her outstretched arms.

(Y/n) didn't think anything of it and wrapped her arms around Anna's neck, making sure the mushrooms didn't slip from her grip as she did.

Anna slowly hugged back and eventually lifted her up.

"Oh, here." (Y/n) said, placing the mushrooms into the basket that Anna still held.

Anna couldn't hold back her smile any longer and squeezed (Y/n) just a little bit tighter. She laughed heartily and spun the girl around.

(Y/n) wasn't sure what was going on but laughed along nonetheless.

Anna didn't know it at the time, but the feeling that had overcome her was a common one.

It had been love.

(Y/n) hummed Anna's song as she scribbled onto the sheet of paper.
