(Y/n) stared out the window with stars in her eyes.

She took great interest in the snowflakes that fell to the ground in flurries. When she was still in the normal world, she lived in a warm place that didn't get snow. If there ever was snow, it would always be the slushy kind.

"Mama?" (Y/n) called.

Anna stopped washing the bowl of berries and turned with a tilted head. "Yes, Малыш?

"Can we go and play in the snow today?"

Anna hummed in thought for a moment before nodding. "Okay."

(Y/n) cheered happily, leaving her spot at the window and running up the stairs.

Anna smiled and tossed a few of the berries into her mouth as she waited.

Her English had been getting better and she was able to decern longer sentences by putting together the words she understood, and the tone of voice (Y/n) would use.

"Back!" (Y/n) exclaimed, jogging over to Anna with a familiar flower embroidered cloth.

Anna herself took a moment to make sure her Little One was properly bundled up. Once she nodded in approval, she smoothed out the girl's (h/c) hair and placed the cloth on her head, tying it at the chin.

"Thank youuu." (Y/n) hummed, already making her way to the door.

Anna couldn't help but smile at the way (Y/n) stayed at the door, not walking out just yet. Although she knew she could trust (Y/n) wholly, she couldn't stop those small thoughts from bubbling up.

Those what ifs.

What if her Little One gets tired of her and tries to run? What if she ends up scaring her that she stops acknowledging her? What if she deems her an unfit mama?

"Mama?"

Anna looked up from the berries in her hand.

(Y/n) stood next to the door with a tilted head and confused expression. "Мама, хорошо?"

The taller woman smiled at the name and nodded. "Мама, хорошо." She affirmed, walking over to (Y/n) and handing her the washed berries.

Her Little One accepted them with a grin, devouring them quickly to be able to go outside faster.

Anna chuckled as she grabbed a few hatchets and opened the door.

(Y/n) walked out, her smile never leaving her. She first opened her mouth and tilted her head back, only to end up cringing as the flurry of snowflakes decorated her entire face.

She shook her head, now a bit uncomfortable with the feeling of her face being wet. She wanted to clean her face with her gloves, but she knew it wouldn't do much and probably make it worse due to the gloves being made of leather.

(Y/n) turned at the sound of Anna's footsteps. She watched as Anna kneeled in front of her and brought her closer to her.

Anna lifted the bottom of her shirt and used it to wipe away the water that seemed to be bothering (Y/n).

"Better?"

(Y/n) nodded, her smile coming back. "Much better!"

---

(Y/n) smiled triumphantly as she reached the box that sat up high on a shelf in the bedroom.

She had to stack multiple pillows from both upstairs and downstairs to grab it.
