silent running

(inspired by Gorillaz's new live music.)

I cry, I cry out for you
I cry and the dark blood leaks from my eye sockets
I cry and words fall out of my mouth, mumbles
Useless vibrations and worthless promises

I promise, I promise you I'll stay
I promise but I'm really just pleading for your mercy
I promise because I can't stand the loneliness
The isolationist's dream in the little submarine

I tremble, I tremble at your gaze
I tremble and my hands won't stop shaking
I tremble and hope you'll hold me steady
But I know I don't really matter to you anyways

I panic, I panic and lose my breath
I panic because you're back at it again
I panic and close my bleeding eyes tight to drift away
And run through the empty to something far from here

I run
I run
I run silently
I run from you
I run far away
I run the whole world
I run from loneliness
I run and run and run
And I run right back into your twisted arms

I fall, I fall into your grasp
I fall and melt in your empty love
I fall and dissolve because I can't live without you
Without you I'm Silent Running
And without you I've nothing to run for.
