Intimidation

[2017]

Awake, I open my eyes.

Blood is all over my hospital gown,

Dripping from my mouth.

In front of me is something.

No, someone.

A creature of the stars.

Their eyes are so soothing their smile so calming,

Yet intimidating.

Like a small dagger covered in frosting.

Like a small bow covered in blood.

I think of these things.

They remind me of someone.

Was it the person in front of me?

I have no idea.

I have no clue.

All I can do is wait for an answer.

I get impatient.

"Who are you?" I manage to choke out, blood oozing everywhere.

My mouth overflows.

The walls turn red.

I can't help but imagine myself gone.

But they only stay like that for a moment.

They look intently into my eyes,

Our gaze too strong to be broken.

"Not who you're looking for."

And with that, they walk away.

I scream, needles puncturing my skin.

I reach out my arm with the rest of my strength.

Then...

Blackness.
