Hope you enjoy. :)

"I can't believe that I have to work an extra shift just because Rachael can't make it!" I snap at Dave.

"I'm sorry Ro but you know that I need you out there. It's a full house! If it wasn't I would let you leave but I can't. We're short of staff and I need you." He pleads.

"You know what Dave? I honestly don't care." I snap. "Find somebody else."

I take my apron off and hang it in my locker before shutting it. I take a look in the small mirror on the wall. I can see the bags under my eyes due to the amount of sleep I got last night, my hair is tied on top of my head in a messy bun, my caramel skin looks sickly in the poor lighting of the locker room.

"I'll give you a raise if you stay and help tonight. I know you need the money Ro."

I let out a breath I never knew I was holding and turn around to face Dave. He was wearing his plain white shirt and black pants like always. His belly sticking out just a bit more than usual. His hair was parted to one side and slicked back. He looked good for a man in his mid-60s.

"Do you know what that means if I say yes to you?" I ask.

"Yes Ro. I know what it means. I just don't know what else to do."

"How about calling Gary?" I suggest.

"You know... for a 21 year old girl you are one hell of a bad ass." He chuckles quietly. "Gary has gone home for the weekend. I can't call him."

"Fuck." I mutter. "Fine, I'll do it. But I want a 40 percent raise."

"Deal." grins Dave.

I glare at him and his grin slowly fades. "I'm sorry Ro."

"Yeah well too bad sorry doesn't cut it." I mutter. "You know what? I don't understand how Rachael still has this damn job. She barely shows up, yet she still gets paid like everyone around here."

"I'll take it into consideration."

"Whatever. Excuse me." I take my apron and brush past him and walk out of the locker room. I start walking towards the back door of the restaurant. As soon as I step out the cold air bites my face and I cuss at myself for not wearing my jacket. It was supposed to be spring already but Budapest's weather has it's on plan. I take a deep breath and feel the numbing cold feel my lungs. I could feel myself calming down. I felt bad about snapping at Dave. I should go and apologise but I knew if I did it now I probably won't have my full heart in it. I wasn't mad at Dave at all. The past few days have been exhausting. It's so hard juggling a job and university at the same time. Lately I have been thinking of quitting so that I can just enjoy my summer, especially now that I have enough money saved to travel.

I slide down against the wall and look up at the night sky. I've never seen any stars in the sky since I have been here. I close my eyes and lay my head on my arms. It will be a year that I moved to Budapest by myself in a couple of months. If I stay here it will be my first summer here.

I stand up and brush dirt from my backside. I look into the café window and take everything in. Even though I'm tired seeing all the students laughing, gossiping and looking at their phones makes me smile. It's like looking into a mini world. My mini world. All these people have their stories and problems but when they walk into the café I always see all those worries go away.

It's our mini world.
