As we go to see my brothers at the table I was informed that they left. I blush knowing I'm gonna have to ride with Knuckles. "Well then I guess we're going to be riding in your car then..." I said smiling trying to hide the fact my heart is racing. "Ok...but Um it's not something a prince should be riding in...." He blushed embarrassed. "Honestly I always wanted to know what it's like to not be royal let go!" I said excitedly which surprised him. We get to the parking lot and he walks to a beat up Chevy truck. "Nice truck" I said brushing my hand against the dusty grey matted colored boxed truck. "It belonged to my dad." He said. "Would your father like to come live with us as well?" I asked. "Not if you can revive his ashes." He said with sadness in his face. "Oh im so sorry...." "It's ok really I lost him about 5 years ago." He said. We get in the truck which was very nice and I really like it. "Sorry it's a bit run down" "I like it" "really?" "Yeah.... It's different than what I use to and honestly I love this more than what I'm use to." I said. He starts the truck and the truck roars like a big block Corvette engine. We drove back to the castle where I told the security to let us in. I told him where to park and showed him the stables. The horse warmed up to him pretty quickly now for the real challenge. I bring him to a large black Belgian horse. "Meet Zuzu" I said. "Be careful though he had scared off many stable hands and only I could tame him. Hell my own brothers and parents can't tame him." I said and Knuckles nods. "Zuzu what a incredible name you have big fella." He says to Zuzu. He walks closer slowly to Zuzu and my horse flips its long glossy main. Knuckles gently placed his hand in front of Zuzu but not on him. To my surprise Zuzu actually sniffs his hand and presses his nose against knuckles hand. "Good boy" Knuckles smelled and pets Zuzu's main. "Looks like we got some work to do don't we." He smiles at the horse. "I think some new shoes, a nice bath, brush and deshedding would make you feel amazing. Sound good?" He smiled and Zuzu nods it large head. He really understands these creatures making me fall for him more. "Wow..." "what can I say I got a magic touch" he smiled. We leave the stables and I show him his own little house near by. "Wait I get a house?" He asked. "Yeah my parents wants our stablehands to feel at home so we build small houses for them. Some have families here." I said. "That's amazing.... I only got a room above the stables." He said. "Come on I'll show you inside" I unlocked the vacant home and hand him the key as we entered. He looks around at the furnished home with a grateful smile across his face. "Thank your highness" "please call me Shadz" I said. "Are you sure?" "Yeah" I smiled feeling my cheeks heating up. "Shadow are you ok?" He asked and started feeling my head. "You're not running a fever yet your cheeks are really pink." He said and his lips looked so luscious I just had to know how they feel against mine. My heart is racing but my mind kicks in and I wished him goodnight. Once I gotten back to my room I growls into my pillow before falling asleep.

Knuckles was so close to me as we laid under a tree next to the clear lake. The wind blows and I catch a scent of his evergreen cologne. His eyes glistening in the light. I turn to face him and press my lips against his. His hands glides down my body and rolls on top as our kiss deepens. I felt up his firm strong body from under his shirt. Our forbidden kiss starts to become more as we explore each other's bodies. The longing to be together excites us as we take turns thrusting inside each other. "SHADOW WAKE UP!" Sonic yelled making me wake up. "Finally you're awake" Silver said. "What's going on?" I asked. "Ummmmm mom and dad wanted to talk to you about hiring a new stablehand without their knowledge?" Sonic said nervously. I get up and dressed before heading to the throne room. Knuckles stands at the door awaiting my arrival and we both enter the room. "Good morning Shadow" my father said. "You're majesties" Knuckles bows. "Shadow is this the stablehand you hired last night? Wasn't he already employed with the moonrose castle?" "Yes mother but he was forced to put down a horse that didn't need to be. He has already warmed up to the horses in our stables even tamed Zuzu better than I could. I think he will make a great stablehand." "He tamed Zuzu?!" My father said surprised. I nod. "Well then mr.?" "Knuckles my king" "alright Knuckles anyone who can tame Zuzu and is willing to be his main handler may stay and work here. "It's an honor my king thank you." "You're welcome you are both dismissed." My father said. We leave the room and headed to the stables where Knuckles got to work with Zuzu. "Hey Shadow if you don't mind where do you keep Zuzu's horse shoes at?" He asked and I showed him the stall. He grabs what he needed and started replacing his horseshoes. It was incredible on how quickly and carefully he did it. Once the shoes were on he washes him throughly and desheds layers of loose hair then brushes his main. Once he was done Zuzu looked like a brand new horse. "Wow Knuckles he looks amazing!" I said as he walks Zuzu up to me. "Thank you" he said handing me the reins. "Knuckles would like to join me for a ride?" I ask. "I can show you more around the kingdom." "Sure Um which horse am I allowed to ride?" "Anyone of them my family don't ride them as much as I do." I smiled. He saddle up Sonic's horse 'Jetta' and we rode off. It was nice to be riding with someone who shared the same love for riding horses. I showed Knuckles around the kingdom which helped him out a lot. Then I decided to show him the lake not to far from the castle. He was amazed by the sight of clear skies, Mountains in the distance and trees blooming fresh apples. "Shadz this is amazing." He said. "Yeah my brothers and I stumbled upon this place 6 years ago yet I was the only one that came back here just to get away from royal life...." I said sitting down. "I'm guessing you really don't like being a prince huh?" He said joining me. "Not really... I want to be free from it.... Actually work for money, pay bills, live an actual life where I feel more helpful. Sure being king is helpful to some but I really want to actually know what it's like being in others shoes... why do they come to the king with their concerns. I would have to make choices for them but that could turn at any moment if I pick the wrong choice for them. I want to be able to make choices for me and deal with the consequences of that without hurting someone else..." I look down. "Wow I had no idea..." "it's alright many people don't..." I said. "Well what about your betrothal?" "Honestly I don't want to marry her I don't even like girls that much....." I blurted out. "So you like guys more huh?" He teased and I rolled my eyes.
