The winds were high and the sky was dim as all of us stood on top of the station roof. The sound of raging infected below pierced my ears and encouraged me to load my revolver; I could feel Ash grip my shirt in fear, feeling as the building swayed ever so slightly from all of the tension.

"Why are there so many?" Richard called across to Ben, we were standing on one end near the ladder and Ben was standing on the other digging out flares and dynamite.

"They've just about eaten everything alive in the ten mile radius. We're all that's left." Despite how loud it was, you could hear Richard gulp as he started looking more uneasy about the whole thing.

"You're positive this is the only plan?" He looked around at the rest of us and we shrugged our shoulders.

"What other options do we have? We're completely surrounded." I confirmed.

Miller herself looked the most frightened out of everyone. The fur on her back was sticking up in a defensive manner and she was trembling. She looked in multiple directions, clearly confused on where all the noises and cries were coming from, until she settled beside Curt and tried to calm down.

"Everyone ready?" Ben locked eyes with all of us as we nodded, hearts beating like crazy from the extreme adrenaline.

"Curt, when I light this flare, wait till I throw the dynamite to go down. The noise should distract them enough for you to get some room. Got it?" Curt analyzed the plan, tying not to show his uncertainty before he nodded, clenching his jaw ever so slightly.

When Ben turned around, I couldn't help but flash Curt a look. The whole plan didn't sound too solid and anything could go wrong at any given time.

"I've got an idea of how we can do this." He mumbled once he leaned closer into me. I could feel his warm breath fan against my neck as he spoke.

"I'll go down first. Wait for my command then one by one start making your way down. I'll take care of Milly." His dark orbs flicked up into mine as I nodded, my gut already feeling nauseous from fear.

I can only hope that he's right...

Ben clutched onto a flare, then activated it and threw it as hard as he could away from the station. The smoky, pink flame immediately got lost within the bodies and it wasn't until I saw one or two zombie's stop that I realized Ben was right. Two became four, and four became six as they fought to get closer to it.

Ben turned around once more an checked to make sure we were ready one more time before he proceeded. I could only watch and wait with the others, meanwhile Curt was using some rope he had stored to tie Milly a harness so he could easily drop her down.

"Sweetie, cover your ears." I warned as I watched Ben grasp onto a dynamite stick and pull out an old antique flip lighter to go along with it.
Sparing no time, he flipped the top of the lighter off, flicked the lighter a few times until it started, then ignited the fuse on the dynamite before tossing it in the same direction as he did the flare.

Three seconds.

Three seconds was all it took before body parts and black blood went splattering in different directions. Although we were a good distance away, I still saw small specs of flesh and droplets of blood land on the old thick wood of the station roof. The wind blew the putrid burnt smell in our direction, and being nauseous from nerves didn't help as I tried not to hurl.
Distorted screams and cries filled the open air and I felt Ash clutch onto my leg in fear as we heard hundreds and hundreds running around inside of the station. Most infected ran to the sound of the explosion, and others stayed inside of the station trying to claw to get out and inspect the noise themselves.
