The next day, her first class of the day was English and as she sat down in her seat, Ryder's words rang in her ears 'Just try'.
'Okay,' she thought. 'I will try.'
For English she had to do a project in pairs and when she turned to look around for one, a girl with bright red hair smiled and waved at her saying "Hi! I'm Sam. We have been sitting beside each other for this whole year already. Do you want to be partners?"
Unable to say anything due to shock, all Jane could do was nod. 'How could I have not noticed?' Jane wondered but nobody could blame here as well because the only reason most people talked to her was to make fun of her.
Doing the project with Sam had been the most fun Jane had had in years. Sam was humorous and could easily make Jane smile genuinely. Once again Ryder had noticed this and could not help but smile to himself.
