"Morning Everyone." I brought a hot cup of coffee to my lips. Careful taking each sip.
"Oh, your back! That's great! We missed you yesterday."
"Really?" A few people nodded in agreement, others offered their friendly smiles, or loud laughs. There was no tension, we were all okay with each other's company.
I started to think that maybe I was the reason some tension was on their shoulders, and now that I got a well-deserved break, everyone feels better.
"Yesterday was pretty smooth but it's nice seeing you around, checking in, offering extra help."
"Well today I'm all yours, no distractions." I returned their smiles and warm greetings with that of my own. Bringing my cup back to my face.
"Office will be unlocked for anyone who needs me. Oh! And once someone sees our top military man send them my way."
"Yes Ma'am! Sukuna will meet with you around 12 at the latest."
"Of course, he's pushing it. That's fine." I shook the thought of him away, quickly refilling my coffee before heading out of the conference room.
Cleaning crew was already started on daily chores. Kitchen staff was prepping meals, military was training. Overall, everything was running perfectly, smoothly.
The halls were quiet and empty, almost unmoving. The dark reds and golden wallpapers standing as tall as ever.
Today is all about work. With how caught up we are me might even make the first move against Nari's alliances.
I took the keys from my pants pocket. The soft jingle as the door opened and the satisfaction of the door clicking behind me. My desk being its usual organized, orderly, mess.
"Guess I could, maybe should clean up before Sukuna gets here." I place the hot cup on a coaster. Organizing reports into their respective folders, Placing books back on the shelves. Dusting off the bench on the right between two more bookshelves, along with dusting the desk for good measure.
It only took a short 15 minutes for everything to be out back into an ordinary setting compared to its previous chaos.
There I spent hours, upon hours alone. Reading books on cursed techniques, war, history of Devon, he's not one to rule over any group of curses. As for Hangist, he's well known to rule over plenty of grade 3-1 curses. Nothing special.
Devon is similar to what I was, simply traveling wherever he pleased and tormenting anything in sight, curse or not. However, with his own personal methods.
One thing that stood out to me was some of Devon's historical events. He's worked with sorcerers. Managed to struck deals, his assistance in return for their compliance. He's done it to many different people. All of them eventually dying to some sort of sexually transmitted disease.
Easy enough to put two and two together, he made deals by using a seductive strategy. Doing this to both Men and Women. Last I met him was at a parade Nari hosted for curses. Many believe he enjoyed spending his evenings with anyone who would take him.
Hangist on the other hand was believed to only seek the attention of Nari. Explaining his thoughts behind war. Honestly that attraction of his could prove very useful. All is fair in love and war after all. If you desperately showcase your weakness without the intention to do so, it will only end horribly.
Interrupting my rhythm was two solid knocks on the door.
"Enter-"
"So, what's the game plan Darling?" Sukuna waltzed in with a smug look on his face. Temporarily putting me in shock with his choice of greeting.
