Leaving peacefully

"Shops won't open till early morning. 8ish at the latest."

"Not too long of a wait. Did you get any information for a carriage ride?" Sukuna seemed a lot calmer then before. Which was nice, a relief actually.

"Yeah about $54.99. Maybe $55.09 with tax." I rummaged throw my pockets and started counting out the few bills we had left.

67$ That's enough for the ride and change of clothes. Sukuna will need a mask. I'll need a new shirt.

Sukuna forbid to just cover them up on his own.

I have to think this all out now. No time for waiting.

"You do realize your staring?"

"Yes, figuring out what you need to hide yourself." I stared him down even more shifting from his hair, to his clothes, his tattoos, his dark red glossy eyes.

Fucking focus.

"Oh! Your yukata top. Put it back on." I was holding it for a good bit now, trying to focus on anything but his chest.

He took it from me without any remarks. Making made himself look presentable. I forced my gaze away from him staring at the stars and empty streets around us. We were far from the main part of town. Not wanting to deal with all the party people at this hour.

It was quiet over here all the small boutiques and shops still and unmoving. This place must be packed during the day, with tourists, locals, just your typical crowd.

I thought about just heading to sleep till shops opened. But the chance of us not walking up on time, and wasting more bothered me.

"Stop thinking for a bit." Sukuna carefully wrapped his arm around me. Pulling me a little closer but not close enough for our sides to touch.

"What?"

"Your stressing yourself out, just relax a bit we go at least 3 hours till everything opens up." I know I was giving him a look. He was worried about this earlier too.

Unless he lied.

"Weren't you worried about this too?"

"Not necessarily. I was worried about them finding you out. Sorcerers can and will figure it out." Then it clicked. It was just a light sigh-like laugh, but it erupted into a full on burst of laughter.

"What's so funny Mm?" Sukuna gave me a weird look. Probably because I seem crazy, out of my head.

"It's just dumb, not what you said. We were both worried for the other. Me with people finding you out, and you for me." I looked at the ground beneath my feet. Knowing that just made this easier.

I'm still worried. Just a little less then before.

"Your a weirdo you know that? Who just bursts out laughing like that." He gave me a cheeky smile. I hadn't realized our position till I felt his hand on my hip. We were sitting side by side. Close enough for me to lay on him if I wanted to.

This.. this is nice.

Three hours went buy fast. I didn't sleep Sukuna might have. We talked a bit. I explained what happened back at the town. How pushy William is, how my personal paranoia got me to think the drink could be laced. All of it, and Sukuna just listened the whole time. Eventually making comments like-

'I'll kill him.'

'Pushy people disgust me, and I'm me.'

'William just sounds like a brat.'

'What made you feel it could be laced?'

'You paranoid? I can't see it'

'I really could have destroyed everything back there.'
