One day.

Kit was in the bacta tank for one whole day after the Battle of Mos Espa.

And Din blamed himself for her being there. He couldn't believe he let himself slip up like that, forgetting to make sure that he got all the Pykes before ushering her through the streets. She trusted him to guide her to safety and he failed her. Din was only grateful that the Pyke was a terrible shot, missing any vital organs.

He couldn't bring himself to leave her side though, watching over her as she slept underneath the viscous liquid. Boba and Fennec knew better than to try and pull him away from her, so they let him be. The only time his attention ws away from her was to take care of Grogu, feeding him and keeping him occupied as he also recovered from putting the rancor to sleep. Din had to hold the child back from trying to heal Kit himself, not wanting to overexert him any more than he did.

Din placed his hand over the glass, gently tracing over the shape of her.  He couldn't help but appreciate how peaceful she looked in the tank. Her dark curls splaying out over her head like a halo, her tanned skin catching the blue light of the tank beautifully. He wanted nothing more than to see her eyes once more, those gorgeous brown eyes.

It seemed as if the galaxy heard his wish, as Din let out a sigh, her eyes snapped open. Through the becta, Kit tried to reach out, banging her hands against the glass. She was panicking. Quick as he could, Din pressed the empty button and threw the lid open, not caring about the remaining batca that spilt all over the floor. He reached out to Kit, but she scrambled away from him, spitting out the breathing tube.

"No- Get away-" She coughed out, throwing her arms about.

"Kit!" Din grabbed her wrists, forcing her hands against his helmet. "It's me. It's me."

He watched as all the fear melted away from her as her hands tightened their grip on his helmet. "D-Din?"

"It's me, cyar'ika. It's me." Din watched as she took deep breaths, tension leaving her body. Kit shuddered as she relaxed against him, not releasing her hold on the beskar. Without even really thinking, Din leaned his forehead down to her's. He held his breath as Kit's eyes fluttered shut. There's no way she knew or understood the action, but it seemingly calmed her down more.

"Can-" she spoke after a few moments of silence "-Can I have something to cover me? Please?"

Din suddenly became aware of how scantily clad she was, wearing just her undergarments. But he nodded, gently pulling away from her to grab a robe that was hanging nearby.

"Here," he said as he put it over her shoulders, covering her for the most part. Kit slipped her arms through the sleeves, pulling the cloth close to her. "How are you feeling?"

"Like I almost drowned in bacta," she huffed. "I don't like batca tanks, they're not- Grogu! Is he-?"

At the sound of his name, Grogu came crawling from the area Din had set up for him. He ran over with open arms as Din lowered himself to pick up the child.

"He's here. He's okay," he said as he placed Grogu in her arms.

A smile spread across Kit's face as the child reached out with his clawed hands, touching at her chin. Grogu cooed, clearly happy she was okay and unharmed, judging by the smile he gave her. Din's heart warmed at the sight. The woman he cared for and his child. . . this was his aliit. No point in denying it any further.

The door to the room opened, startling Kit. Din stood in front of her shielding her from any prying eyes. He was faced with Boba and Fennec at the threshold, waiting for an official invitation in. Slowly, Din nodded and the two made their way into the room.

"I see our guest is awake," Bobda commented as they approached, stopping just a few feet away. "Feeling better, I hope?"

Din turned his head to Kit, watching her as she slowly nodded. "Yes, thank you for your hospitality. . ?"

"Boba Fett."

"Thank you, Boba Fett," she finished. "I'll be out of your hair in no time-"

"No, please," the daimyo cut her off. "You're welcome to stay here as long as needed until you've recovered."

Fennec stepped forward and it was only then did Din take notice of the folded clothes in her hand. "Here, it's a change of clothes." She set them down beside Kit, who bowed her head in thanks.

Having said their piece each, both Boba and Fennec made their leave. But Boba stopped just before he closed the door. "Dinner will be served soon, you're welcome to join us, if you'd like." Then he left without an answer.
