Beth's POV
I woke up as the sun came in through the crack in my blinds I looked around my room before stretching and hearing a few joints pop. I hopped out of bed and headed for the shower as the warm water washed over me I remember the last night. Anna Brooklyn, she might just be the first friend my parents will approve of the problem is I don't know if she has any interest in hanging out with me. Two hours later and I was at school I made my way over to the group I usually hang out with and they smiled when they see me.
"Hey Beth sup," Isaac said as we hugged I had known him since I was 4 we were always there for each other.
"Oh you know just plotting my world domination plan, you?" I ask basically knowing the answer.
"Same," He said and we both laughed.
"So little birdie told me the big bad Beth had a babysitter last night," Angelo said.
"It was for my brother and I was out anyway," I said, I had known Angelo for a good 2 years he was also head over heels for Isaac not that Isaac ever noticed.
"Yeah where did you go last night you just balled on us without a word," Hally said as she entered the conversation.
"I...umm..." I stuttered not knowing how to answer.
"Come on is it really that out of character for her to ditch us," Isaac said knowing I only ever stuttered when I was freaked out or about to break down.
"I guess not," Hally said as I mounted a thank you for Isaac.
"Well anyway I have a feeling that the track team will be my new project this year," Lisa said as she fiddled with the options on her camera.
"You don't say," Angelo said as a few track boys ran past us for their morning practice.
I had now recovered from the shock of earlier and I looked around at all the kids and then I saw her. Anna Brooklyn, she was just sitting on a wall air pods in phone in hand not talking with anyone. Even though she wasn't in a group she seemed to be well known as a few would exchange hello's and waves as they passed her. The bell for school went off and she hurried in as I just followed my friends to my homeroom before classes officially began. As I took my seat I noticed that Anna was in my homeroom as I looked at her I didn't realise I was starting and only got pulled back to reality by Isaac stepping on my foot hard.
"Ouch, what was that for," I said elbowing him.
"You were starting," Isaac said.
"So you trying to break my foot," I said.
"If I have to yes," Isaac said so just to make a point I slammed my foot down on his.
"Okay sorry," He said wincing from the pain.
"By the way, you got a plan for your application you know if it's not done you won't get in," I said.
"I'm working on something," Isaac said with a smug smile.
After homeroom I headed off to my first class and as usual since I had no friends in this class I was forced to sit next to some guy who spent the whole time trying to get my number. As the class came to an end as the bell went I rammed my knee into his crotch and he fell to the ground. Since no one knew it was me I just acted like I had no idea what he was up to and left the room. I was in my math class and I took the only available seat left I was still pissed at the guy from the last class I didn't see who I had sat next to. I heard a voice next to me and turned to see Anna sitting next to me and she looked almost surprised that I was sitting next to her.
"Hi," I said with a wave.
"Hey," she said kind of like she didn't want to be talking to me.
"Hey are you okay talking to me," I said.
"What do you mean," Anna said.
"Just that you don't sound like you want to be talking to me like you are afraid to talk to me," I said.
"I just don't get why you even want to talk to someone like me I am not special I'm not good at sports and I am sure as hell not popular," Anna said.
"So," I said.
"So what is so important about me," She said.
It took for her to say it but that is when I realised that I didn't even know why I was doing it myself I had never showed interest before so why now. The rest of the class went on without the two of us saying another word it felt wired and awkward but then again I don't know why. I was about to leave for lunch when Lisa pulled me off to the side and closed the door of the empty class she had pulled me into.
"Um Lisa if you are trying to confuse your love to me I prefer public displays with a large audience and less yanking," I said only kind of joking with her.
"Oh please don't flatter yourself I just need your help and didn't want the others getting wind of it," Lisa said.
"I already told you, if you want help to break into the public pool at night find someone else," I said.
"You do know I am asking you specifically because the others don't have the balls right," Lisa said.
"Fine tell me where and when," I said with a sigh and a smile.
"Not sure yet I'll text you when I have worked out all the kinks," Lisa said as she left with a wink.
I walked out after her and went to my locker to dump all the stuff I didn't need for the rest of the day with was mostly just my math stuff.
